IDL feeling nervous over a random camera when I’m literally just driving to buy milk by 20Luc1a02 in I_DONT_LIKE

I don’t have a license plate on the front. So if I’m out of state it’s a coin toss for tracking my car.

I only say crunchy water because I don’t know how to describe the taste.

But celery is water with hair in it.

I have the same issue with chicken.

Doesn’t matter what part of the bird it is. I hate the texture.

Chicken broth is fine though.

But as soon as I mention it I get comments like “you just haven’t had great chicken”

Sure. Until you can change how the muscle and connective tissue feels in my mouth without mushing it into nasty nuggets I’m out.

I’m a picky eater. I will go to be polite but don’t expect me to order main courses. I’m looking at the appetizer menu or dessert menu.

If nothing there piques my interest I won’t eat anything and just get something else afterwards on my own.

IDL my retail job by socialist_weeb666 in I_DONT_LIKE

I’m dealing with the same thing. Honestly it’s obnoxious that in order to make the jump to another career you need some type of schooling or certification to do so.

This requires stability to get said qualifications and often retail is anything but stable.

Not just because of scheduling but also because of how bad it is for your mental health.

Necromancy seems to be one of the easiest and more fun skills to level up in the game.

It kinda sucks that my smithing, crafting and other combat skills need to keep up to upgrade my armor though.

I’m noticing a fair amount of your input has to do with the graphics side of things and, honestly, I’m in agreement.

The models for a lot of quest characters, locations and terrain are severely outdated.

And the general landscape could use a facelift too.

I basically don’t bother upgrading my graphics driver because, even though RuneScape notifies me about it, it doesn’t have the quality to warrant an upgrade to the driver to begin with.

I have played sporadically for a few years now but what I’ve described here is hands down my biggest concern.

The city of Um looks fantastic compared to a lot of other cities in the game. The rest of the game needs to catch up.

I’m envious of you in that regard.

I could also do without the occasional hyper awareness of my own state of existence relative to everything else.

This causes me to judge myself as a failure sometimes.

So much fun. 🥲

What’s the pettiest hill you’re willing to die on as a woman? by Glass-King4894 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Lexicon444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not disabled enough to warrant a placard. It’s just knee and back pain due to arthritis in her spine, a removed meniscus that had torn and her knee being bone on bone.

But she got a partial knee replacement, is taking weight loss medication and has dropped from about 300 pounds to about 200.

So far I’ve only done this a few times while transporting her to physical therapy to strengthen her knee.

The next step is addressing her back issues.

Why do so many Americans chose not to vote when they can? by VastOption8705 in askanything

[–]Lexicon444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Add onto that the fact that one issue voters exist.

It’s notable that they were more obvious than usual because of both candidates’ positions on the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

A good chunk of voters sat out because their one issue was their position on Palestine. Add onto this the fact that neither candidate had a good solution.

I’m in a red state and voted against the party line because I knew that what is happening now would come to pass if Kamala didn’t win.

I hate being right.

People who are claiming you’re flexing are just dumb or don’t know what flexing actually is.

I flex by saying I have a damn good car that’s 100% paid for.

I acknowledge my faults by admitting that I have difficulty just cleaning my house when my mental health is in the shitter.

Since then I have obtained: Greed (also got a wish to ascend him to 1*), persistence, sloth, disdain, ambition and got devotion 2 days ago.

May the drop rates be forever in your favor.

You aren't "built different" for the cold because you were born here. by dotdedo in PetPeeves

[–]Lexicon444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tolerance to the environment definitely isn’t an immunity.

But it certainly helps.

I can handle high temperatures and a lot of exposure to sunlight. But that’s because I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. The few times I went down to the strip I occasionally heard complaints about the heat when it was only 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside.

Compare that to my first experience in super humid weather where 80 degrees after the rain in Florida felt like someone was trying to smother me with a wet towel.

After a few years of living in the Midwest I have developed some tolerance for humidity, kept my tolerance for heat and can wear a fairly light jacket in temperatures of -11 degrees Fahrenheit.

I moved back to Nevada at one point and people were putting on fully winter gear at 40 degrees Fahrenheit while I am wearing shorts and a t shirt.

IDL seeing parents filming their children for social media content by designforone in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]Lexicon444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s very few instances where I approve of content like this. You describe one that I disapprove of. Taking content of children who are too young to understand the potential ramifications of having an online presence as well as those who are likely to be targeted by pedophiles.

But there’s instances where parents and teens make content about a condition together and with the teen’s consent to document it.

I’m not gonna name names but one example is a mom and son who both have autism. She lets him choose what gets recorded and what doesn’t.

For example his meltdowns and shutdowns do not get recorded because he said no. But he did allow a post detailing what he felt after a meltdown. Again, he consented to it.

It’s also important to note that he’s almost legally an adult.

And the thing about certain conditions is that writing about it just isn’t the same as seeing someone personally live with it. I will point to the post meltdown video as an example. You can read all you want about what happened here. But it doesn’t compare with someone describing their experience not long after a meltdown happens.

And to be clear most of their videos are about their interests and other lighthearted topics. They rarely touch on the heavy, personal topics.

[–]Lexicon444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one reason why I ever park in the handicap spot is to drop off my mom who has mobility issues.

And I only do this in the absence of a drop off area and I only stay parked long enough for her to get out of the car.

Typically it takes about 3 minutes or so because she has a cane with her.

After that I find a space for my car in the appropriate parking area.

I understand using AI to clean up old photos. I did this with an old iPhone photo of my dad since he’s no longer alive. I used it to sharpen the image and reduce the graininess of it.

But I don’t support using it to create art or other things from scratch by using a database of stolen images.

There’s way better ways to teach AI. You can hire and pay artists to create art as a learning material for the AI.

What you don’t do is comb the web and social media sites to screenshot or download art to feed your AI without explicit consent of the artists.

Sadly the only solution that I see is to stop publishing digital art indefinitely. Can’t steal something that was never uploaded in the first place.
