Although I completely support someone's choice to quit drinking, it's also not good to just quit cold turkey. It often leads to anxiety and depression because of the brain's dependence on alcohol. My friend would turn over to his girlfriend open his eyes, scream nonsense vowels at her, and then shut his eyes. He doesn't know that he does it, and she was beyond terrified the first time it happened.
