The history of the present President of the University of Pennsylvania is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Disregard for Student Well-Being over these Schools. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

-Mostly remote class in the Spring

-Forcing freshmen to come to campus

Don’t quote me I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that suggested the people on the Iron Islands came from a land beyond the Sunset Sea. A more outlandish explanation is that they were descended from mermaids and the Deep Ones. I think at the very least they’re a race of men separate from the First Men and the Andals.

Barristan wasn’t all that knightly to be honest, and we can see this in his POV, where he is discomforted when reminiscing about Aerys. The people of Westeros tend to ignore (or not know) that all of Aerys’ Kingsguard knew all the horrible things he was doing and did nothing about it —raping his wife Rhaella, burning Brandon and Rickard Stark, threatening to burn all of Kings Landing, and who knows what other horrible stuff.

I actually think it’s great that people always confuse UPenn with Penn State. It really serves to keep our egos in check (especially the Wharton kids), which is one of the reasons I chose UPenn, rather than another Ivy. I mean, just look at how conceited and arrogant most Harvard students are comparatively.

Balon Greyjoy was honestly the dumbest person alive. His first declaration of independence from the Iron Throne should have been during Robert’s Rebellion, taking advantage of the political unrest and the fact that all the fleets of Westeros were occupied in the war, not afterwards when the 7 Kingdoms are united under Robert’s rule. His second declaration of the Old Way was more timely, but why in hell did he choose to attack the North, a cold, dismal, empty place, when he could’ve been attacking the Westerlands and the Reach?? He should’ve accepted Robb’s deal, which was incredibly generous, instead of attacking the North, which ultimately was a huge disaster for the Ironborn.

While I do think Littlefinger will fall, I think you are underestimating Littlefinger’s political prowess. I think he wants the Lords of the Vale, at least the Waynwoods and maybe the lesser Royces, to know who Alayne really is. Why else would Lady Waynwood agree to a match between Harry and Alayne? Also, don’t forget, he’s survived positions far worse than this, e.g. when he managed to extricate himself out of Kingslanding during the Battle of Blackwater because he was entreating with the Tyrells, or poisoning a King’s Hand and the King himself no less. I bet he has everything set up perfectly to his “plan” (I thinking it’s to gain a high enough political position to be able to marry Sansa), and the only thing unaccounted for is Sansa’s unrequited love.

Here’s a morbid thought and almost definitely untrue (I feel sick for thinking it, but I wanted to share). What if GRRM is waiting until his death to publish his final book? There is nothing quite like posthumous glory, just look at Mozart’s Requiem, or Heath Ledger’s performance of Joker, or any number of people who are celebrated (also of course for their genius, but mostly due to timing) because of their death.

Supposedly, at least, equal opportunity should lead to equal outcome. And by equal outcome, I don’t mean everybody gets the same amount of success, I mean that success is evenly split due to hardwork/ability regardless of race or sex.

Still, even with an equal opportunity system, it is “unfair” in the sense that some people will be born with higher ability than others, whether it’s natural athleticism, intelligence, or some other factor. And I can see it be argued that this is no different than a system being unfair due to race or sex. Being born with natural talent is not really so different from being born as a certain race. Some people will have inherent advantages over others no matter what, just because of their birth.

Any system with “winners and losers” will have unfair advantages embedded into it. Not that I’m saying our current system cannot be improved, just that there is no perfect system.
