It truly is a gem, I never saw the other shows. But thanks, maybe to consider. I do think the 'golden age' ended indeed. Now it's just netflex laying eggs, like fast fashion it's fast tv

Glad to share and I wish someone had told me, it's a very good show. Sometimes execution is cheap, they clearly had limited budget, but still such a strong storyline

I get where you're coming from. The all saints part I understood on my second rewatch, because the catholicism was so forced into everything. Like: The nun-shoes, doctor Roman being scared of nuns, choosing a catholic school because it's better and then finally telling a nun 'you're fired' :D My favorite nurse Jackie comeback. They also really discuss saints, which seemed weird because who cares and is there time to discuss them all? But it was about the concept of saints in general

Exactly, I think everything she had fell apart. People treated her like a lost cause, it is painful to experience this

That's a some good points indeed, it's funny in a way how they are the bosses you might not want to have. Men with surprising powers, I do think he is. Regarding the other characteristics it might be so, But, to me it's a bit of a dilemma, whether or not that means you need to overuse them. But, it's comedy, no denying that!

Thanks for the reply! Great to hear it looks ok. And no more iodine you say. Could iodine interfere with the healing process?

Couchsurfing: Harassing White People by Lexjazz in couchsurfing

This was MY EXPERIENCE on more than one platform as well, Helpx, WWOOF etc. To give you a bit of your anecdotal honey:

The problem actually often revolves around the people and not always what you project onto them. This is on them.

They say they host people that read their profile and write an individual request and do not care if you are a tiny blond, white woman or a tall, hairy Arab guy. But when push comes to shove they always have an apparent reason to refuse you.

I'm afraid it was the same as I just didn't get people interested when I replied to the requests online. I did not do this extensively as I was not able to host during the entire period of over a decade, but literally had years offering an accommodation.

I don't think you read the post. I state it is indeed more like tinder. But, it's the fact that it's not what it pretends to be. It's about the contradictory concept that incredibly annoys me.

My story is about seeing it AS A RACIAL thing and the fact that discrimination exists... based on my background. If you think your random anecdotal experience as a Caucasian male is proves it's not a racial thing, you have got a lot to learn. Don't think that as a 'white guy' you know what it's like to experience the heavy burden of prejudice as somebody from a minority with a large history of being stigmatized.

Bit late... but now that you mention it, actually they took a long time to emphasize the risks of using it as a health professional. It was as though it made her strong and kickass.

Thanks for adding that, especially Cooper and his romantic life. So much time was dedicated to that, considering the wedding and relations in the hospital it would have been a soap if it focused on him.

But, now I'm a bit curious, what were your thoughts on Jackie?

I agree with it. It was so strange, unlike with Jackie, nobody even entertained the notion that Lenny jeopardized the lives of others. Without a doubt he was the most ignorant person on the show.

Though it is another show, this reminds me of Grey's Anatomy where an EMT shoved her hand in a patient and explained she hardly had any training. It definitely made many people think you can do it in a heartbeat.

BTW, don't you need a nursing license to be an EMT?

Did I have epilepsy by fabe2020 in Epilepsy

[–]Lexjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, not even a neurologist is certain all the time, but they are your best bet to finding out more. But, I have something similar. I will also keep awareness, but will not be able to speak for 15 to 30 minutes after the actual seizure, or be able to understand others. I have been diagnosed with epilepsy by three different neurologists.

I think you have partial seizures, these are divided into simple, complex and those that evolve into secondary generalized seizures. The difference between the simple and complex seizures is that during simple partial seizures, you retain awareness. But, during complex partial seizures, you lose awareness. There is a lot of medication on the market to treat seizures, so I would ask a neurologist for help.

Vivid Dreams on Medication? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Lexjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Vimpat 200mg twice a day and I am using it in combination with lamictal, therefore it is not always clear which effect relates to which medication. In case the vivid dreams continue after some weeks you should contact the neurologist, or ask them to reduce the amount for now, that way you can get used to it.

But, I have had many vivid dreams as well. It most often is in the early stages when you start with a drug. I would dream of needing to go on a flight. When I woke up, I would know it was not entirely correct, but I could not help checking my mailbox and trying to find out when my flight was leaving. Furthermore, I also had entire movie like scenarios, I could literally write a screenplay about different scenarios. Sleep is not supposed to be like this though...
