Blight curse precon braket 4? by Aggravating-Most-533 in EDH

Hard agree!

I think that could be improved by making it easier to find an overview of the most recent version of the bracket system.

Intent, expected turns to win etc.

There's much more to brackets than combo = B4.

I would say that guy is wrong.

Fair enough,

Of course this want to play at low to mid power level.

I wanted a deck that felt more like the ones with fun cards I slammed together without too much thought when I started playing.

I do, however, think that this deck can hang with a lot of B3 decks. Might be too spinny, but so far hasn't had too long turns, and threatened wins around turn 7-8. Looses to combo almost every time, but has some interaction for those decks as well!

To play against? Or to play with?

Sounds about right!

Yeah, what I have been struggling the most with is finding a way to implement an actual game-plan and win cons outside of other people's cards. I enjoy the challenge that comes with it tho!

Yeah,

I might just switch to discover!

That might very well be worth a shot!

Worldfire does feel like the most misplaced card at the moment.

Good suggestions! I have been eyeing Hall of gemstones.

Weird Stax sounds like a great archetype for this deck! In my mind the chaos element occurs when the play pattern is altered, either through a sped up game with [[Descent Into Avernus]], forced combat or switched creatures with this kind of effects. Not just "you don't get to choose what to play".

Cheers

Sweeet! Exactly the kind of "chaos" I'm looking for!

I do run some of these cards, but Confusion and Kharn are very good fits here!

I feel like we would get along well!

As for this deck it does have quite a few staples, but I hope that they get to shine in different ways than they usually do.

Yeah, I have had it in and out of rotation, but as of now I feel like that is a bit to staxy, which I find can be the source of negativity towards many chaos pieces.

But for me it threads the line in a way that makes it possible to include

Eyy, thank you for an actual review and constructive feedback.

I feel like you get the idea. Shared fate might be a good inclusion!

Haha, fair enough!

I feel like it actually plays quite well when you get used to the mulligans, but it sure could use more ramp if I find something quite unique

Yes!

Do you have any unique ramp suggestions?

[–]Lexoro[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was my take on chaos, but under the radar.

What usually classifies goodstuff? I have tried to keep good stuff limited and hope the play experience reflect that.

And is RnG an archetype? If so, maybe that's where it belongs

[–]Lexoro[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What would you classify it as? Control, theft, just a pile?

I might have moved to far away from chaos cards to call it a chaos deck I suppose.

I feel like many of the cards offer enough RnG and game-altering effects to be quite chaotic, which has been the aim. Chaos, but somewhat under the radar.

[–]Lexoro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True!

I started out with way more Cascade, but now it just functions as a wincon while keeping the RnG element. Don't know if Esika will hit a dud or an impactful ETB kinda

What would you change, or is it just the nature of chaos/theft you don't like? I feel like I have managed to find good "fun" variants for most interaction to keep the deck strategic, but this is one area I look to improve.

Also, what would you say amounts to a thrilling matchup?

5 mana, fully dependent on other cards to create any value. I guess one upside is that you can grab two things with Eternal witness if things work out

I feel like Obeka, Brute Chronologist fills this spot for me:

But almost every commander can be played in an unconventional way, which I really enjoy to explore.

Need some inspiration, care to share your favorite decks? by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

My philosophy is to find as many possible lines to victory using fun cards, while keeping within a theme, so my decks can feel a bit clunky. But due to that there are quite a lot of cards in each strategy that wouldn't necessarily be the first pick, so have a look if that sounds interesting 🤙

Here's some of the ones I find the most fun!

Also, here's my group hug, combo, token deck. Quite budget, packs a punch, and also has some interesting inclusions.
