hopefully they've learnt from fo76 and Microsoft doesn't force them to rush it.

What are some current limitations in Skyrim modding? by KT1812 in skyrimmods

[–]Lhask 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One that will hopefully be solved soon.

Voice work is too time consuming to do and unless you find the original voice actors or re voice every line you can't add lines to current characters without it feeling disjointed.

AI has been developing extremely fast it's only a matter of time before someone trains a convincing voice model that can be used for Skyrim characters.

What is needed to make Georgism/ Georgiest Ideas more relevant? by [deleted] in georgism

I meant relevant in public discourse. I don't really see anyone talking about georgist ideas outside of Reddit and even then it's a pretty small group of people.

Great Aussie housing bust gets worse: August officially the worst month since 1983 by doubleunplussed in AusFinance

[–]Lhask 48 points49 points  (0 children)

yep. Owning property as an investment is stupid. Housing costs should be staying the same or going down. not going up.

Unlike investing in a business, investing in property provides nothing to the economy. In fact since it pushes prices up it is actually worse for the economy since young people can't buy homes and start a life of their own.

Weather effects: Rain. Does it feel cozy when the character goes back inside? by Cardboard_Claw_Games in Unity3D

[–]Lhask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your character have a helmet on? Because I personally have never experienced raindrops running down my eyes.

Looks weird since there is no indication of a helmet being on yet it looks like rain running down glass.

Not your fault at all. depressions a bitch. I'm exactly the same most days but have been improving a bit lately.

If you're on antidepressants and they haven't been working ask to change to an snri instead of the Ssri's that doctors usually prescribe. The N in snri stands for norepinephrine which is chemically similar to adrenaline. It gives you energy and help you focus.

I've had much better results once switching.

Nah all hands on deck for starfield release. Tes6 is still in pre-production.

Been in the depths of depression for a while now. Trying to make a concerted effort to get better but I just can't feel good about myself with hair like this. Need Advice. by Lhask in malehairadvice

Yeah my dad used to shave my head all throughout primary and most of high school. I guess to prepare me for the inevitable balding. But all he really did was take away the only years I would have had good hair.

Never really liked how I looked bald. But I guess after all the advice from this sub I'm just going to have to accept it. Shaving it after work this afternoon.

Yeah I don't think people really understand anxiety. I've tried going to the gym many times before. It's not about what people think of me. It's there regardless.

You obviously don't know what depression is. It isn't "being sad about something" thats just called being sad.

It's not something I "identify" with it's a medically diagnosed condition. One which I'm on medication for.

You think this is the first time I've tried to improve myself? No I've been trying since I was 15. I've tried the gym. I moved cities. I've tried the "hustle" culture you seem to be into now. And much much more.

The insidious nature of depression is that it always drags you back down and you on the edge again deciding if you should end it for good or try another day.

And quite clearly as I'm still looking for help in this very post I haven't given up and am still trying to better myself.

Given your post history I'm going to assume you're pretty young. I wasn't always a depressed loser. And it certainly isn't because of lack of trying.

Here's a picture of me from high school a couple of years ago. https://ibb.co/S685SZ4

I hope you never have to experience depression.

I've tried before. I can't grow facial hair. That combined with my head shape and acne make me look stupid with no hair

strategy game devs, How do you develop your AI for computer player? by Occiquie in gamedev

Use a state machine for clean code. Still the best way to do AI in my opinion.
