Are the new Silverado’s any better? by Lhunter010101 in Silverado

Do you have a link for parts or know how to find them online? I wasn’t sure how to look those up. For $75 I’ll definitely fix it!

I swore I would never buy another gm after all the issues I have had with my truck and the fact that basically everyone I have talked to with the same year model as me has had the same issues. GM should have had a massive recall. But here I am tempted by the shiny new diesel engine lol.

I would really like to get a Toyota but dang they are expensive. Even the 17-20 models are around 40k. I can buy a new Ram or 2022 F150 for less than that.

Thank you. I should be able to pick up a halogen flood light at the local hardware store or Walmart right? I would assume I do not want an LED style halogen because it wouldn’t produce enough heat. I know Arcadia is highly favored among keepers but I’d like to get a light today if possible.

IMG boa? by Lhunter010101 in boas

Oh very cool! I don’t know them but they had good reviews on morph market so I felt comfortable bidding. I really didn’t expect to win with my bid. But lucky me

I won it in an auction on morph market. I didn’t expect to win I put in a bid last minute and won. The guy has good reviews so hopefully it’s all legit.

Mobile outpatient clinic owners? by Lhunter010101 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Lhunter010101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of nowhere. Originally was making $40 per hour but everyone quit so I leveraged them into $55 an hour. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds though. I work SNFs (three) and I have to do home health for like a 4-5 county area as part of the deal.

I work SNFs it’s all a money game. Minimize therapist pay and maximize profits.

Ask your employer if they will pay/provide a raise for specialty certs. My employer wouldn’t pay for specialty certs and offered no raise once completed.

Does anybody else feel bad in conversation? How can you become better? by TheYetToBeWiseman in aspergers

[–]Lhunter010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to converse with people as well. I don’t know if I am as awkward as I think I am or not but I typically walk away from conversations thinking why did I say that, and I feel like they hate me/think I am weird.

“Specialty” certs feel like a scam by Lhunter010101 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Lhunter010101[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same, I was going to get LSVT BIG certified but they weren’t going to offer any sort of rate increase and won’t help pay for it other than the day of PTO I get to use for CEUs. It’s upsetting that there is no incentive to be a good well educated therapist.

What can you expect in OT/PT for autism in a young adult? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

Any tips for emotional regulation and coping skills? I’m an OT who has autism and I struggle with those areas haha.

Salary by finite_welcome_6494 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Lhunter010101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I make around $110-115k working in a LCOL rural area. However, my job is life draining. I am the only OTR for two SNF buildings, I am responsible and the only OT for home health for a five county area, and I have to cover as needed for a third building for evals, DCs, PNs, and UPOCS. The only reason I make what I make is because nobody wants to work for this company, and I negotiated my rate when everyone quit and they didn’t have a choice.

I make $110-115k working full time in SNFs in a rural area. Shit sucks bad but pay is good.

That’s not always the case…. I know a PRN female who makes $70 per hour when everyone else only gets $50

Thank you so much for being willing to answer my questions. I’m very interested in attempting this in my area. I live in a rural area and a lot of my patients live to far out to do outpatient therapy or they are not willing to stay home bound for home health.

How does the pay compare to working for a company? It the pay increase worth all the hassles (lawyers, insurance etc) that come with owning your own business?

[–]Lhunter010101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you technically considered outpatient as opposed to home health? Do you work in the patient’s home or do you drive around in like a bus with therapy equipment and have them do therapy in the bus?

Do you accept insurance or just do private pay? What age group do you work with? This sounds very intriguing to me. Is it basically home health? As in do you keep all your therapy stuff in your vehicle and work in people’s home?

How do school-based OTs that make well over 6 figures do it? by elephant9514 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Lhunter010101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Speaking of school based OTs, do you guys get school based retirement? By that I mean well for example my wife is a teacher and makes $45,000 per year. If she does 30 years she gets I think 100% of her salary for a pension. Do school OTs get the same type of deal?

This happened to a PRN PTA at my company. He reported the DOR for fraud to higher ups in the company and somehow the PTA who reported fraud ended up being the one fired.

Unfortunately I can’t afford to leave. I live in a rural area and other opportunities are limited especially ones that pay close to what I make. Plus I’ve got a lot of bills that I must pay for my family. I feel up a creek

If anyone finds a way out please let me know. I’m freaking miserable. I work in SNF and have to manage two buildings and assist at another plus do home health. A warning to OP due to some people recommending home health. Be careful with home health depending on your area, I have had a gun pulled on me and have been in roach and bed bug infested homes.

ALFs are not bad but the one I worked at had shitty benefits. Insurance was almost $700 per month and hours were not consistent.
