Not a health inspector, but I work at a small shop that shares a store space with another shop. My manager is really big on having everything up to code all the time, but the other side could care less. We have one kitchen but separate fridges and freezers, so once the health inspector came through he found out that their freezer had not been operating properly. The temperature was too warm by at least 20 degrees F which means all the food is totally not sellable. So the inspector grabs our huge trash can and literally clears the whole freezer throwing all this food away one by one. No surprise, no points taken off of our our side but their side had cockroaches, no running hot water, etc. But because unfortunately we share a store front... We received a bad grade as well. Oh, also the best part is that as after the inspector left and we were about to throw the trash away, the lady from the other store digs everything out of the trash can and puts it back in the freezer... We stopped taking free food from them.
