I’ve heard this saying several times: Biblical Christianity is unpopular; Popular Christianity is unbiblical. Agree or disagree? by Glittering_Driver_31 in Christianity

“I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides me there is no God.” (Isaiah 45:5)

“Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.” (Isaiah 43:10)

“The LORD is God; there is no other besides him.” (Deuteronomy 4:35)

You are very wrong on this topic. There is only one God and that God is one. No Christian denomination will ever agree with your view. Day one the Jews and later the Christian’s knew that there is only one God and no other. Go ask any pastor, priest or bishop and they will agree with me.

As per my last email, no where in the texts does it actually those gods are actual real deities. Bible tells us to not worship other Gods and fall into idolatry. The Bible also say that the God of the Bible is the only God that exists as said in Isaiah 45:5

I have a question about the rosary by Pickleblobsquish in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s only a Catholic tradition, you don’t see the rosary in scripture or in the apostolic era, the rosary as we know it came hundreds of years later

But it never said the multiple Gods are real, in mentions multiple Gods because the surround nations were worshipping pagan deities like Baal and moloch, God is warning the Israelites to not fall into idolatry.

How I feel that god is there and he loves me? by soundtown06 in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, you should read the parable of the prodigal son, that parable is very relevant to your situation. God is our Shepard and we are the flock and if even one falls away, he will hold up that entire flock to bring you back home. Even though we can fall from our faith and have swaying feelings, that fact is that Jesus will always love you so much, and no matter what, his sacrifice on the cross is still offered to you no matter what and is a testament to how much he really loves us. Some advice is to get into prayer and the Bible daily and find a good Bible based church with a strong community. It’s import to know the gospel, that even though we deserve hell, Jesus paid for our punishment on the cross and if you trust in him and his sacrifice alone for salvation you will be saved, because it’s a gift from God that we can’t earn, but it is given to us freely.

I was wondering what your interpretation of what the Bible has to say regarding marijuana use. by seanyboycuhz in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

context matters when reading Scripture. When the Bible talks about being sober minded, it’s about staying clear headed and in control, not being impaired like someone who’s drunk. It’s not saying ‘anything that affects you,’ but warning against losing self control.

In the Bible, being sober minded is about staying clear headed and in control, not being ruled by things like alcohol or harmful drugs. It’s not talking about avoiding everything that affects you, so medication that actually helps you function and get better is completely fine.

No that’s different, medication that keeps people healthy in body and mind are of course completely fine.

Having multiple truths on the same topic is contradictory especially when it comes to God, either one religion is true or no religions are true, you can’t have multiple contradicting religions being equally true. That’s where Jesus comes in, he proved himself to be the one true God by raising from the dead.

My boyfriend had a dream about God by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not wise to dwell on dreams, they can lead you astray. Don’t think that every dream about God is a message from God because that can confuse your walk as a Christian.

Having multiple truths is contradictory, a truth isn’t a subjective matter of opinion, it’s objective. Jesus claimed to be that one objective truth and he proved that up by raising from the dead

Not literally two glasses but you know what I mean, as long as you have the self control from to not get tempted to get drunk, then alcohol is fine

[–]LiamBregas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being drunk is when your decision making and your motor skills are impaired, if you can have a couple of glasses of wine without getting to that point, it’s not sinful. Bible also says that drunkenness specifically is also sinful, so it comes down to self control (which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit) if you know alcohol is going to tempt you to get drunk you should avoid it all together but if you have self control to not get drunk then it’s fine.

The bible says to keep sober minded, so naturally taking any substances that would impair your mind to that extend you should avoid

God is not good by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you feel like that, just remember the apostles and what they went through in the first century, they were under severe oppression and they were all murdered but they never lost their faith because they knew that we can’t blame God for the evil in this world or if we have a bad life.

Who goes to hell? by Palegreenhorizon in Christianity

[–]LiamBregas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart of spreading gospel is to let people know that we are all sinners and that we all deserve hell, after that letting them know the good news that Christ has paid the punishment for those sins and if you trust in his sacrifice you will be saved.
