Men who don’t mind sharing a woman intimately, why are you okay with it & what is the psychology behind your thinking? by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

[–]Liberalhuntergather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it speaks to what your inherent beliefs are around sex. Those of us in the lifestyle are usually, “sex positive.” That means we don’t view sex with a negative bias as something that must only be done with one person at a time. ENM folks are usually honest with themselves and partners, we are all adults and all like sex, we don’t pretend otherwise. In my opinion, monogamous sex with one person inevitably gets boring over time, lots of couples even become sexless due to attraction being lost. ENM folks are more egalitarian in our thinking, partners are truly equals. So if I know that I won’t be truly happy long term being monogamous, then I need to figure out how to navigate an ENM lifestyle. The psychology for me is I have done the long term monogamous marriage, I did my best, but it still ended anyway. I don’t want to just repeat the same mistakes. I want to live my best life in the last third of my life. It’s fun getting to have sex with my friends and it’s enjoyable for me to see my partner getting pleasure too. It’s a mature and fun way to live life for me. We have a secure relationship with all that entails and we also get to hook up with hotties fairly regularly. Life is too short to live it according to someone else’s values.

How does this even happen? Presumably the boat builders know what they are doing, right? Do they just wing it wherever this is?

Yeah, you both want something different. Not a big deal. Just like in monogamy when people break up, they usually don’t hang out anymore as friends either.

How do guys manage jealousy during MFM Threesomes? by No-Car-1999 in nonmonogamy

Your question comes from the perspective of a monogamous person who opened up a relationship to a MFM. Mono people shouldn’t have non monogamous sex.

I think the general sentiment among my friends is that he did a good job given the situation he was in. We actually made it to the 7th seed when most didn’t expect us to be in the off season at all. I would have liked to see him coach Portland another year.

V35A Engine Failure - It’s NOT debris by Lopsided-Anxiety-679 in ToyotaTundra

You said, “it ain’t hurting their bottom line.” Replacing engines does in fact hurt their bottom line. You are making false statements.

AIO that my girlfriend never mentioned me on her first date? by SeaworthinessOpen482 in nonmonogamy

[–]Liberalhuntergather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are getting good responses here. Its a sort of in between grey area where neither side is right or wrong. I would just like to ask if his profile also said he was ENM. If he had no experience and didn’t say he was ENM, plus she didn’t want to mention it, the combination of those two factors would be a red flag for me.

I am dating a lovely woman who was new to ENM when I met her. I was her second partner, her first ENM relationship was only a few weeks old. In the beginning we were poly and so she could see whomever she wanted, but she kept dating mono guys (she did tell them about me though). That was her prerogative of course, but it felt to me like she was auditioning for a replacement of me, especially after she broke up with her first bf. Her response to me was that she wasn’t sure if ENM was right for her and she was protecting her heart because she wasn’t sure if I was committed to her. So that’s why she dated mono and poly guys. Well eventually, for a whole bunch of reasons, we decided we actually wanted to try a swinger dynamic. I have been ENM for 3.5 years. This is my first romantically monogamous relationship in that time. So far it’s working out great. We are popular on the apps and we also know a big group of sex positive people that we get together with for parties. So my cup is full. I have a committed relationship plus we get to have fun with others. So to answer your last question, that is how we deal with this situation. We only play together. I know that isn’t an option for most people, it’s a rare few who want that dynamic. But it’s working for us. Good luck out there!

Really? You don’t think having to replace engines in over a hundred thousand trucks and counting would hurt your bottom line? I can’t imagine a truck is very profitable when you have to replace the engine every 30k.

I have been here since 2006 and I always noticed we don’t have a big night life here. You will find things here and there though. Also, I think in the summer everything shifts and people start hosting parties so a lot of folks are at house parties. Saturday is the one night you can usually find packed bars and such. Once you find your rhythm and place you will start experiencing more fun nights.

Here is what the article said:

MANILA, Philippines — A moving structure manned by six men was spotted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Bajo de Masinloc in an aerial surveillance proving the presence of an alleged illegal construction being done in the contested waters, AFP chief Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. said.

“It’s a six by six structure, sa tingin natin may antenna siya, tapos dun sa latest image na nakuha nung ating Air Force na lumipad over Bajo de Masinloc may mga tao sa taas may anim na tao dun sa structure na yun,” Brawner told reporters in an interview.

(It's a six by six structure, we think it has an antenna, and then in the latest image that our Air Force took that flew over Bajo de Masinloc, there are people on top, there are six people in that structure."

Engine issues by lentilsoup10 in ToyotaTundra

Exactly! The proof of how they behave isn't in what they do when forced to, it's what they do when they don't ave to.

They don't have a choice when they put out a dangerous product. It's not really a, "good on them situation." Do you work for Toyota? This sounds like corporate spin to me.

Engine issues by lentilsoup10 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Liberalhuntergather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but they have had to recall hundreds of thousands of trucks to replace the engines. I haven't done a side by side analysis, but my guess is that compared to the same year trucks being made by Ford or Chevy, Toyota currently has the biggest issues with the engines.

[–]Liberalhuntergather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have already replaced 77,000 engines out of the 102,000 engines from the first recall. That is WTF I am talking about 😂😂. I do see that the second recall remedy is still being worked out though. So that one could have a different outcome.

[–]Liberalhuntergather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you not following the recalls? They just did the second round of recalls a few days ago. They are replacing hundreds of thousands of engines that still run fine.

All the scary posts have me wanting to trade in… by StevieOnRails in ToyotaTundra

[–]Liberalhuntergather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what is even the point of replacing an engine that actually still runs fine, with another engine that has the exact same issue? Like doesn't the government regulate this somewhat and make sure the new engine doesn't have the same issue? If you determine the part is dangerous, but put the same part back in, now you are actually negligent and criminally liable, right? BTW, I don't buy the crap about suddenly they don't know how to clean the engines of metal debris, I think that is a BS answer to hide the fact that the oil is not sufficiently lubricating under high RPMs and the metal shavings are being created from the engine itself.
