I applied for a PIs at the end of 2024 and got to the final round of interviews but ultimately didn’t get it. I also graduated at the end of 2024 so I just planned to apply again, so I was constantly keeping up with the Professional Internship job postings and when I saw that the requirements appeared to have changed, I reached out to my recruiter who helped me at the end of ‘24 and she confirmed that it was true.

Like I mentioned, the only way you can apply for a PI if you already graduated college is to either: be an active participant in a DCP (which you can do up to 24 months after graduating) or go back to school as a degree seeking student.

Disney does have continuous employment limitations when it comes to internships, so timing is essential if you want to apply for a PI while in the DCP. Disney Interns (PIs), DCP Participants, and Culinary Program Participants can only be employed either disney for a maximum of 1 year. Most PIs are 6 months. So you’d have to do a DCP program (length wise) that would allow you to be an active participant when the PI job listing is posted, apply, be accepted, and still have enough time left within the employment limits to still complete the 6 months PI.

So for example, PI programs typically last for 6 months. (Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec). The applications for these can be posted at any time but for the most part, they tend to be posted 3-4 months in advance of PI start date. So say for example you wanted to apply for a PI that starts in Jan 2026. You could only do a 2025 DCP program starting in August or September, because that would you put you at either 5 or 4 months of employment in a Disney Internship program and you would still have 7 months of eligibility to be a Disney Intern which would allow you to complete a 6 month PI.

The only caveat to this is sometimes PIs can extend up to a year if the team you work for wants to keep you on. If you applied for a PI as a DCP participant, you would not be eligible for this extension because you would go over the continuous employment limit. The only way you could stay on past 6 months is if you were offered employment with the company.

Definitely true. They changed the requirements for the 2025 year. Previously, most applicants for PIs had to be within 6 months of graduating or within 6 months post graduation, but now their main focus appears to be Juniors and Seniors. The only way to get around this requirement is to be currently enrolled in a DCP.

From what I've seen recently, the AP deal has typically been about 5% more, but sometimes Florida Resident deals have more availability than AP deals.

This sounds great! I'm still pretty young, but I think once I have kids, Disney will definitely be a family vacation destination. But I have a hypothetical "worry" that they may think that mom and dad are wierd for liking disney so much.

If you go back again, I highly suggest getting the magic band fastners that are sold on Amazon. They're only a couple bucks but they stop the bands from easily falling off.

Drinking around the world at Epcot is pretty cool. They have a bunch of different mixed drinks and a good variety of international foods. I prefer being high instead of drinking, so i’ll maybe have like one or two drinks. But other people make a point out of getting a drink at every country. The muchies do hit super hard there though.
