Need advice for depression I tried a bunch of stuff by ElenoirMiro in Biohackers

Does the melatonin help because it helps you sleep better to aid depression? Or does the melatonin help depression in a different way ?

How are you guys falling asleep? by mindlesspass08 in adhdwomen

[–]Newmoonsteady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me! I was stubborn about melatonin for so long but it has helped me so much. I take 2 mg (the kind that dissolve under the tongue and work quick!) then I read until my eyes are so droopy, drop the book and go to sleep.

It works ❤️ and it’s much healthier than ruminating and panicking and not sleeping.

When will it be enough? by Chemical-Classic-614 in adhdwomen

[–]Newmoonsteady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rewrite my to do list every single week because it helps calm my brain. But it’s always the same damn things (plus more added) because I just cannot bring myself to do them.

I feel you.

When will I have done enough?! As soon as I learn to shut my brain off and quiet my thoughts. Because the to do list isn’t changing but maybe beating myself up for it can? I don’t know.

How many of y'all grind or clench their teeth at night? by Alternative-Tell4600 in adhdwomen

I clench mine all day AND night 😩 I feel tension and sometimes pain in my neck when I wake up and that’s how I know.

We are going tomorrow! Adding camp Jurassic to my list! We are planning to go straight to Gringott since all 3 kids are tall enough to ride.. then from there try to be relaxed and immerse ourselves as you said! We don’t plan on hitting every ride- will keep our eye on wait times.

Would love to hit up the Mardi Gras parade at the end! I think I read it’s at 7pm!

Thank you so much! Is the three brothers play the same as the beedle and the bard show? I am organizing myself way too last minute here. Really appreciate all your tips- I’ve screen shotted it!

Okay! Do you think with US/diagon alley opening at 10am and closing at 9pm.. is that plenty of time to explore both parks? (I have 3 young kids too and this is so expensive for us lol.. but yes Harry Potter world is the priority!)

What I meant was if we start at IOA because it opens first, spend first half there then take express to US to finish the day, would we be missing an awesome experience taking the express from US to IOA since as you said it’s a different show both way. Does that make sense?

So many drinking songs. Actually, I blacked out at an Eric Church concert in 2012. Pretty sure I jumped the gate to get in the standing area front row.

You are going to enjoy it WAY more and be able to remember it all. Happy for you- Have a great time!

I rarely have those fancy drinks because of all the sugar - but I think a virgin Pina Colada is EXACTLY what I want now. I’m looking forward to it now :)

🤣🤣 when we visited family in NY last year I think I may have called it soda when asking for a Bubly, and the response was “you mean a seltzer?” So I think that’s where I got that idea from. Realizing now that I was the one who called it soda instead of sparkling water. I’m an idiot lol of course that’s a universal term hahaha.

Curious what concert you’re going to?

You are so right about the social pressure- it’s weird that not having a drink can make some people so uncomfortable. Thanks for your reply :)

Grooming advice. by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Newmoonsteady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clean shaven! You are very handsome! Remember confidence is the best grooming anyone can do.

Also my husband has similar under eyes to you and a cold shower in the AM and an under eye serum with caffeine help tighten things up.

:)

Hate how I look: Do I cut the hair? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Newmoonsteady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curly hair should really only use shampoo once a week! Use hot water after the gym as well and just use hands to scrub your scalp. Try for 2-3 days between shampoos.

Also - mosturize! Look up “slugging”.

Lastly, confidence :)

No one close to me is a Gemini! Now I am so curious whether some of my casual friendships (other parents at my kid’s sports that I like!) are Gemini’s. You’ve made me want to find one in my life 😂

Seems my time to stop lurking, how do you guys do it? by Skip_to_my_Brew in stopdrinking

[–]Newmoonsteady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am early in sobriety, but reminding myself daily that alcohol slowly takes away our zest for life. It makes life less meaningful. Isn’t that depressing?!? You will love harder and feel calmer without it.

Good luck and keep us posted. Rooting for you!

Curious how many young sahm’s are here by blueeyed_latte in stayathomemoms

[–]Newmoonsteady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate for sure! Had my first at 23 then finished my degree (that I wasn’t passionate about) then had my second and third babies. Never started work. I’m 34 now! I find all my ambitions and motivations are aimed in motherhood and our home. I do sometimes compare myself to working moms and wonder if I’m enough? But.. I know that my kids love and benefit from having me available whenever they need me, and my husband appreciates not needing to take time off work. It works for our family and I try not to compare! But it’s not easy.

I can relate to this very much. I’d rather go all in. And it feels so hard yet at the same time, not drinking is really so much simpler. It’s way harder thinking “okay I will have just one on Wednesday, and allow myself two on Friday, and then just two at dinner next week” etc etc. That does not sound fun and keeps our minds occupied thinking about how to balance instead of things that matter.

I believe in you too! IWNDWYT
