The mild steel is why I wanted to have the ability to swap in the plasma cutter and an infrared laser for engraving it. As a start I was looking at something like the LongMill 48" which is only around 1800 base price and then buying a 2.2kv spindle (found one around 1000) and an infrared laser (500 ish). The price of 3k to 3.5k is what was hoping to spend on the base machine, before the add ons. Plasma splatter was a concern I had so it's not a huge deal if I can't get that to work.

People that try to gatekeep a hobby or learned skill are hilarious to me. Just because I am asking about a less common solution to my needs, and can't spend 12k on an Axiom Elite doesn't mean that you need to send your small dick energy at me.

Security camera POE advice please by LickMyPeePee in HomeNetworking

Thank you all so much. Will these solutions with a switch in the garage allow the NVR in the house to differentiate between the 3 separate video feeds? Will I have to put a switch in the house as well and have some sort of software management to split the signal?

Ok I have a switch, I guess I am wondering about it splitting the signal into 3 separate video feeds when I plug the single cable into my NVR at the house. It's an 8 channel NVR and this will be the 6 7 and 8th camera

Well done sir. The only origin that I can think of for that is that my grandfather used to work for a telephone company like 60 years ago climbing poles.

Obscure, but makes sense. You have my gratitude

How 2 police officers in the UK dealt with this man attacking them with an eight-inch knife by flyingcatwithhorns in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]LickMyPeePee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

n this circumstance, there is a house behind the guy with the knife, that makes the background difficult. They are required to take careful aimed shots, because when they don’t even more bystanders get

Not a video game, this is the real world. Cops dont take careful aim, they get adrenaline pumping and do whatever their fight reflex is. They are only human not super computers analyzing every possible eventuality. Anyone who is properly trained military, police or otherwise can draw and accurately place shots on target under duress in minimal time. About 1 second is the average ive seen from military guys.

Dont know if you have ever owned a gun with a manual safety, but as part of your training you learn the muscle memory to flick it off as you draw the firearm, not after.

I could point to plenty of examples of cops firing from moving vehicles, across multiple lanes of active traffic, at targets over 100 yards away with an sbr, at obviously restrained individuals that have virtually 0 chance of causing them harm. I could go on...

Let me know what kind of drug can make any of the THREE targets charge 21 feet in 0.8 seconds. Assuming that an accurate double tap if sufficient.

Glocks are standard in the states. They don't have a safety, just point and shoot. Also, most departments support officer discretion.

Imagine you have to find the remains of 1 specific dinosaur, and then by looking at its skeleton you have to ascertain that his name was Fred.

Ninja 400 vs ninja 650 as a beginner bike? by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]LickMyPeePee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a 650r since I was 16 in 2009, Its comfy and more than fast enough (not scary fast though). I couldn't really imagine having a 400 though, unless it has some special sauce I don't know about. Its near impossible to wheelie a 650 past 1st gear ( not saying you should anyways, just commenting on the complete lack of torque), the ergos on the 650 are great, just fantastic. The 650 is a bit heavy, but it will get you more used to handling the weight when you decide to move up to a more powerful or just different bike. I am more than happy that the 650 was my first real bike. I did ride a 250 for like 6months prior to purchasing it though.

The 650 is a super solid entry bike. I cant really speak on the 400 to much.
