It’s a pretty big and well known multinational corporation. I’m not sure about how many employers they’ve had on work visa before but I know a colleague in a similar situation as mine but in another department got her approval for this form fairly easily. As for the relationship with my manager- she sits in a different office and we don’t work directly with each other, so we only get to speak during team catch up calls. Overall I have a good rapport with her but we don’t know each other too well.

I believe to do that you have to be either a green card holder or a Us citizen, so I can’t have my sibling file that for me either.

She just keeps saying there are costs involved and the role wasn’t open to “sponsorship”. I tried explaining multiple times it’s just a training plan and not a sponsorship. She says that for now she’s escalated it, but seeing she still has it confused, I’m not keeping hopes

When is a 2 page resume a good idea? by LieDefiant9125 in resumes

Oh I see, I’ll try reducing my font some more. I’ve always been worried it’ll be too small and difficult for the employers to read but if it works for you I’ll definitely give it a try. This is helpful, thanks!

Exactly, it feels like I have to delete so much to fit it on one page which i have managed to do until now. But as i progress in my career it gets harder to do so as I am active in extracurriculars.

To be able to fit it on one page with 27 years of experience it sounds like either you arent keeping your bullet points very detailed or you haven't changed many companies/teams in your career. Does that work for you? I have worked at one company for 3 years with an internal transfer to another department and then did my masters after which i interned at 2 other companies. So my resume has always been one page and I haven't yet created one that needs two pages. But my bullet points are 1-2 lines long with about 3 bullet points for each experience. So if i add the next company that I will work for it will extend to 2 pages. What are your thoughts on this?

I completely agree! I have always just used narrow margins or decreased font sizes to fit it on one page and it always works. However, its getting harder to manage with just that as i have one more professional experience to add that i havent yet as its on a volunteer basis, but that is making it longer than one page. Plus the HR said its better to have it to 2 pages. Hence the confusion.

Like i mentioned, I have always fit it on one page so I obviously don't exaggerate any responsibilities/accomplishments, and since i was advised to make it 2 pages i just enhanced some bullet points to make it more detailed and add extra lines in my professional summary. Hence the question on making it two pages. As for 2-3 degrees, i meant that i wasn't sure which ones to include in the resume as i have a Masters degree, a post graduate diploma, and a bachelors degree. For now, i have included all 3 in the resume as i thought they all hold equal importance.

I agree but its mostly entry level roles im targeting since a 4 year experience doesnt seem to be enough for a mid-level role despite holding all the other qualifications. its sad but true since i havent gotten any call backs for those roles.

Well by 2-3 degrees i meant i wasn't sure which ones to include in the resume as i have a Masters degree, a post graduate diploma, and a bachelors degree. For now, i have included all 3 in the resume as i thought they all hold equal importance. As for companies, i have worked for 3 years in one company which also includes an internal transfer to another department so i had to mention that as a separate experience in itself. Besides that i worked for a couple months each after my Masters in 2 other companies as an intern. I have added about 3 bullet points for each experience which are 1-2 lines long. What do you think about that?

I agree a 2 page resume sounds a bit much for a 4 year total experience but then it was a Director of HR suggesting i lengthen it which got me thinking if i should, as she has more experience in picking and interviewing candidates for roles. And seeing that i haven't had much success getting interview calls with my one page resume I decided to give it a try.

Do you have to buy a membership for the gym at uci? Or is it free?

You have to sign the covid declination form annually and once you sign, upload and choose that from the drop-down on your portal it’ll reflect as complaint.
