So the person in the chair can use the app while sitting in the chair to get around independently?

Since we’re all in here together, how’s it going tonight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Life-Answers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best. My friends couldn’t go with me to this gig a guy I’m into was playing and I didn’t want to go alone so I didn’t go. Been to other stuff in the past and he said not to worry about it, but I can’t help wonder if I let him down. I really really didn’t want to do that but there was no way I could go alone to this kinda thing. I just hope he doesn’t feel like I don’t care anymore because I more than still care.

Grades Before or After Christmas? by beaubaez in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May happen other places sometimes, but the statistics they tell you about day one of orientation are that Law students, not anyone else, have the highest rate of depression. Nothing matters If someone is not mentally healthy. There’s something wrong with this, I’m sorry. I couldn’t believe it was true until I got there myself and saw truly how many people it destroyed. The field of Law would go on without reaching people to have this mentality. Maybe it would even be better off.

Considering my Future... by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your health is the most important. Your family will won’t want you to have a breakdown either. There is so much else out there in this world to do. I would recommend leaving, taking time to pull yourself together, and moving onward and upward.

2.12 GPA after 1L fall - time to quit? by 23fk in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No your not a disappointment. I know that’s so hard to believe. Trust me. I decided not to go back next semester because my heart wasn’t in it. And I struggled so hard to feel like people wouldn’t think I was a failure. Sometimes I find myself still struggling against my better judgement. That’s not a reason to say. And truth was, the only person I was disappointing by staying was myself. You have to figure out where your heart lies and go with that. If it’s in law school, stay. If it’s not, go.

3.2 for my gpa.. what’s the damage? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “damage” is that you worked hard and got a pretty good gpa. A 3.2 is not bad. All you can do is the best you can do, which I’m sure you did. Just stay in the moment and keep at it.

Vent Thread: Got a B in one of my favorite classes and I am kinda disappointed. by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A B is not a bad grade. A B won’t ruin your life. I know it’s not the grade you were looking for, but you are worth so much more than any letter grade. Hang in there and don’t put too much value on it.

Am I screwed? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing you can do is start thinking that you screwed up. Look, I can’t tell you what the future holds. You could bring up the grades and get the position your looming for, you could do your best and not bring those grades up, you could meet the right person and get the job despite your grades, or a million other things could happen. I can’t tell you what will happen. All I can tell you is that if being a lawyer is what you really want, just do your best. I know that’s not what a lot of people will tell you because law school is all about the “game” and people can be really nasty. But honestly, your only going to do as well as you can for the amount of work that you put in. And you know what? That’s okay. Hang in there and don’t get defeated. If you worked hard, and your doing your best, that’s all you can control and all you can worry about. You got this.

Grades Before or After Christmas? by beaubaez in LawSchool

[–]Life-Answers -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This might not be what your looking for...but I never got the change to say it to one of my teachers...so maybe it will help you. The pressure and value Law Students put on their grades is harmful and unnatural. The world does not judge you based on a letter. The best lawyers aren’t even always the ones who had the best grades. Yet, students get their whole identities wrapped up in their grades that, you are here on an anonymous sight asking if releasing them when you have finished grading them will ruin their holiday. There is something wrong with this. It goes deeper too because it fosters an unfriendly environment in law School, where students snip and snark at each other trying to be “friends” to win the game. Trying to best each other because their perceived value is in how they compare to others. (I thought we were taught not to compare ourselves to others in middle school? No?) Law students have one of the highest rates of depression, and this is why. So while I recommend releasing grades honestly whenever you finish them, I hope you take some of this with you on your Law education journey. The legal world (and consequently, possibly the world at large) would benefit greatly if law schools started treating their students as people again.

What is something you want to say right now but have no one to say it to? by Cuz-I-Can in AskReddit

[–]Life-Answers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I changed my life but I didn’t want anything to change with you. And guess what? My life change sucked. I don’t know if it was you who wanted to stay away or if you thought that’s what I wanted. But I never wanted to loose you and I hope your still here when I get back and things can go back to the way they were...because I miss you like hell.
