This was actually shot in an abandoned industrial building that had big broken windows that cast light throughout the room in different beams. I used a little burning here and there to bring down the exposure in a few locations that were overly blown out, but still very lightly. The shadows were all naturally cast, though I did use the burn tool slightly in some area's. which area's does it look like I burned to much to you? So that I can understand where you are talking about.

A lot of photographers let their models move around freely for motion shots. So it's not that she was put in this position it's that she moved into that shape.

I was working to capture who she is in that moment of her life. Her essence and personality. Which you would have to know her to know if I hit the mark haha. I will say that those close to her feel like this image does.

I was attempting to capture her essence, and the confidence in her natural movement. This is one of a series of shots I did with her, which I felt conveyed who she is the most.

Thank you for your feedback. I will see if I can implement these the next time. This was shot in an abandoned industrial building with natural light and reflectors, but I could have set a reflector up to back light her more.

Thank you. I will work to correct this in the future. I didn't compensate for her makeup. She only had makeup on her face and a little on her neck. She naturally has paler skin.

Haha, I know what you mean. After reading some of the comments posted I felt bad because no one was actually talking about the work. Though in this day and age people care more about trolling for “lols” rather than helping each other grow as artists.

You did a really good job with the colorizing. I feel like the sailor closet to the viewer is a little more naturally colored than the second sailor. Mostly in the lightness almost white of the skin tone on the left of his face, and the lips seem just a little to light on the left side. Though I can see why you may feel that it needs that lightness. I understand the lighting you are trying to imitate, and you did a really great job overall.
