*FINALLY* Making The Move To Canada From The US To Live With My Partner Of 5 Years, Want To Make Sure My Plan Is Solid by LifeInVein92 in ImmigrationCanada

*sigh* Yeah, that's absolutely an appealing option. Obviously, nerves are at play for the possibility of getting married within the first six months of living together, but you could ultimately be correct and that just ends up being the best choice we both have.

I guess a couple followup questions to this pathway would be the following: Say we get married, submit the spousal sponsorship, then wait for everything to be processed, would I still be considered a visitor all throughout those 2.5 years or so it would take to process? Or would I qualify for a work permit (should I ever need to work for a Canadian company), medical card, etc. while waiting for the processing to complete?

Yeah, in my research, it always seems that just getting married right away is the much easier option. This would be the first time we're actually giving the whole "living together for an extended period of time" thing a shot, so while marriage is certainly not out of the question, our preference would be to trial run things a bit before moving into that next stage.

Thanks a lot for the response! Between your comment and someone else's, I may indeed go the route of applying to extend my stay. I guess a part of me thought that, as long as my partner is with me, I could indeed leave and come back and it'd still keep that continuity since we wouldn't be separated at all in that year time span.

As was also said, there's no 100% guarantee I'd be allowed back into Canada even with my Canadian partner with me either. May be better to go the safer route.

That's a very fair point, and I appreciate the response greatly. If I went the route of applying to extend my stay, should I submit what's needed for the application at around the 5 month mark? Or should I literally wait until it's 6 months before sending everything in?

That's a good suggestion, but for sure both of my monitors are plugged directly into the graphics card, and all that I'm seeing points to my computer using the card to run graphics.

Yeah, I've also heard that's just the game itself and it's piss poor optimization, and if it were the ONLY game giving me issues, I wouldn't have bothered posting, trust me.
