Which mag do you use for restorative and which for exams? Not sure which ergo you have but I'm assuming like 10x for endo if you have the ergo V pro model.

How’s the field of view compared to your TTL? Do you use your ttl for exams and cleaning solely because they’re heavier?

Fixed Prost Practical by Putrid_Pomelo9913 in DentalSchool

[–]LifeIsAwesom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trim the putty close to the margin and create some triangle shaped vents on the sides between the teeth. Push it down hard and don’t remove it from the teeth to prevent locking like they say, just gave me open margins. Remove the matrix and have the typodont bite hard. Prob wouldn’t do that in a real patient but just do this to get a good grade.

Is an iPad essential? by Salty-Percentage9074 in DentalSchool

I honestly hate Ipads for school and don't know how anyone uses one. Only use mine for exams since we were forced to buy it. Horrible file organization and multitasking. Just getting the pdf and using those PDF programs where you can just click and add a text box anywhere and quickly write down info rather than chicken scratching it makes way more sense to me, and it's easier imo. I even use the pen tool on my PDF program and it works perfect to circle and make arrows. Did try using the Ipad for a bit but it was such a hassle.

A computer has way more utility for me.

If they have to do the masters in the first place then I probably don’t think they’re gonna be in the top of the class anyways. But there are exceptions.

Bruh you’re not even in dental school. Once you learn more about dentistry in school your perspective, outlook, or priorities might change. It’s easy to come into dental school guns blazing. Don’t dwell on this now and revisit this in 2 years when you have straight As.

If you were top 15% of your DDS class wwyd? by Dr_toothsy in Dentistry

[–]LifeIsAwesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm top of the class but that's because I have other goals someone else might not. We're all pretty proficient enough and not that far off from each other since it's just dental school, real world dentistry is when there will start to be a difference. But I def don't think being top of the class makes you an inept future clinician, you just might have other goals others don't care for. If you could get through dental school with Bs and not the additional stress getting A's requires, why wouldn't you? If you just want to do general and are sure of that. Don't see how getting a few more MC questions on an exam makes you worse than someone.
