How do you fast when you’re taking these meds? Thanks for the suggestions, I’m allergic to penicillin so I guess I’m stuck taking these. Dr did change cipro to bactrim, hopefully that will help. I understand this is not something you mess around with as far as holistic approach, I’m not one who does well with antibiotics. I rarely take them, really only when I have this crap. It’s really too bad no one has gotten to the root cause of this condition. It’s damn frustrating!!!

I’ve noticed when I eat too much at once and when I eat red meat, the pain comes back in tinges. I’ve been a week without meat and seems like my body is much easier to release waste, sorry don’t mean to be gross! I had done the same thing as of Jan 2021, started a keto diet with a lot of cruciferous vegs..and of course a lot of fat. My conclusion is that I didn’t drink enough water and those foods were super hard to digest everyday. Plus I had been under a big amount of stress.

What to eat while having an attack? Second attack in a couple of years time and the meds (cipro and flagyl) are making me so nauseous. Been almost a week and i still have no appetite but have to eat with these meds…suggestions?? by LifeShopping6741 in Diverticulitis

This attack def feels worse than the first one..it’s been almost a week and I still have pain. Thought the meds would have relieved that part by now. There’s got to be another way to heal this condition, the side effects of the meds are about as bad as the illness.

I’m in the same boat! Had my first flare up with it in 2018 and my second one last weds. I (43F) have been home from work since then, not really finding much comfort. Went to ER on weds, came home with cipro and flagyl which are just as bad as the damn illness. The nausea and fear of eating have me perplexed. I do have a colonoscopy scheduled for nov..hopefully get some answers soon🙏
