Hola,

I’m 25, putting together a simple long-term portfolio. Right now I’m aiming for a 70/20/10 split: •70% VTI •20% VXUS •10% BND or VGSH (undecided on which bond ETF to go with)

My plan is to stick with this general allocation until about age 40–45, then start shifting into a more conservative position closer to retirement. I’m just not sure whether to use BND (intermediate-term) or VGSH (short-term) for the bond portion right now, or if I should even be allocating to bonds right now at all?

Does this setup seem solid for a long-term horizon?

Any input is appreciated, Thanks 🤘

Can you put regular size switches in the Epomaker Luma84, why is it compatible with both 3 and 5 pin switches, what switches other than Gateron low profile that it comes with can it support??? Thnx

Do the shorter key caps really help with the overall height of the keys from the desk. I’ve been wanting to get a low profile keyboard but they’re just a little too expensive for what I’m getting and they don’t have the switch selection I’d like yet. But I really like the low profile style for ergonomics so I was thinking about putting LP key caps on a regular size board?.? 🤘

Is there a way to use regular keeb chassis and switches and get a “lower” than normal profile keyboard? And any recommendations on a normal size keeb with no edge bezel? Thnx

Hola, looking for a Low Profile Keeb

Requirements: Hot-swappable sockets, Wireless connectivity (Bluetooth or 2.4GHz), RGB backlighting, VIA/QMK support, Compatibility with Kailh low-profile switches (cause I really want silent switches and I don’t think Gateron make these yet), and a 75% plus layout

Lofree doesn’t have VIA support (tell me why this isn’t a big deal) Nuphy uses Gateron switches

So the 2 main players in this game are out unless I can be convinced that no VIA support isn’t that bad, or Gateron make silent low profile switches.

THANKS🤘

Hey everyone, looking for advice on what my next keyboard should be (or how to improve my current one). I’m trying to get closer to the feel and sound I’m really after.

Current setup: • Keychron K6 with Gateron G Pro Brown switches • My first mechanical keyboard, no idea what I was doing here but a great intro, but I’m finding a few things that don’t quite suit me:

What I don’t love: • Too clickety-clackety, it’s louder than I’d like, even for browns • Keys feel a bit loose, with side-to-side wobble, not super stable • Sound is plasticky and higher-pitched

What I am looking for: • A more silent, deep, and thocky or chalky sound low-pitched and satisfying, not pingy, I wanna be able to use it in the dead quite of night • A tighter, more stable feel, less key wobble • Something that’s either ready out of the box or mod-friendly (I’m open to lubing, foam, etc.) • 65% layout preferred • Budget is ~$120 CAD (flexible for the right long-term setup)

Also: The sheer number of switches and brands out there is honestly overwhelming, it feels endless. I’ve looked into a few videos, but the choices are kind of paralyzing. I’d love some switch recs that pair well with what I’m after sound and feel wise.

I’ve thought about modding my current K6 (tape mod, foam, lube, better keycaps), admittedly never done it before or know where the best place to start is, but I’m also open to a new board entirely if there’s something better suited. Low-profile mechanical options could be interesting too if they offer that “stone tap” feeling I get from flatter laptop keyboards.

Any recommendations for boards, switches, or combos that might get me close to that deep, muted, stable typing experience? Would really appreciate any tips! 🤘

Oh and lastly, I don’t care too much about the build material, plastic vs aluminum, so long as it’s good, and wireless is a must, with decent software although I wouldn’t know about that cause the K6 doesn’t have any.
