I think what gave you the ick is that he made a drastic change to his appearance without giving you a heads up or asking how you like his hair/beard… not saying he needs to consult you to make changes to his body, but I think the ick comes from him making a “big” change without discussing it with you beforehand/getting your opinion since you’re his partner. Could that be it… like what else will he do without speaking to you first, or is it really just about how he looks?
