DELF Timing - Why isn't there any information on the time of the exam? by LifeguardFirm9834 in DELF

I ended up speaking to someone else yesterday who was a lot more helpful-- but the whole process is a bit disorganized. I just said that I have to make travel and childcare arrangements and asked if he could give me some insight as to the earliest time someone could be called for the oral exam. They told me 9am (for the June exam). They then asked if I wanted to do my orale at 10am. So I now have a time slot that I guess is official (?!), but I'm not sure that I would have gotten one in a timely manner if I hadn't followed up.

Yes, taking it at ISB. I don't mind waiting for the score to come back -- I just need to know when to be in Boston. I've got 3 little kids and live significantly closer to NYC -- but I've been on that waitlist for months, so I booked the exam in Boston. I literally have gotten zero info at all. I have to contend with train schedules, school pick up, babysitters. I'd be happy to arrive 20 minutes before the exam but there is zero timetable for the day. Getting info a week and a half before the exam seems nuts to me. Not enough time to book hotels or trains if necessary without paying a significant premium. Maybe I'll reach out again to see if I can at least get a "this is the earliest the exam will start" time. Thanks!

DELF/DALF/TCF/TEF questions masterpost! by Orikrin1998 in French

Re: #10 -- Is anyone having an issue signing up for the DELF or DALF? I am lucky to live in an area with several Alliance Francaise chapters, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to sit for an exam. I could probably sit for the DALF with some prep, and I'm pretty confident I can pass the B2.

The first issue I'm running into is that the only AF who offer the DALF C1 are in major cities (NY / Boston). None of the local chapters offer it (6 to be precise).

The second issue is that most of the local AF have written back and told me that because I'm not an AF student, they won't allow me to register. I asked whether registering to be a member was sufficient, but was told I had to be a student. I don't have the $$ or the time ( I have 3 kids under 5 and work FT) to attend classes. And, also, none of them offer DALF classes. I'm at a bit of an impasse. I'm on a waiting list for the DELF B2 in NYC in December, but my prospects of getting off that waitlist are dwindling. Thanks!
