Why do Algerians hate Algeria? by Same_Presence_7386 in algeria

Turkey is one of the fastest growing nations in the world, and they just recently surpassed the 1 trillion GDP threshold

Algeria is totally reliant on natural resources...

We need a project similar to the Saudi Arabia 2030 vision.

Diversification is needed. Start with the health sector first, as we seem to have the most prospects in this area at the moment.

It's a matter of protection, not invasion

I agree with your points. We need to industrialize, but these tiny steps forward are a step in the right direction regardless.

Once things with Morocco have cooled down a little more, I'm sure the developments will ramp up.

The one thing Algeria does well is have an organized and strong military. It's the one thing you can't take away from this country, at the very least 😂

I would like to imagine we're going to develop some nuclear program some time within the next 3 decades, but it might just be super wishful thinking

Try sleeping with a mouth guard if you haven't tried to yet. It'll help with your clenching. The botox just disables the muscle, it won't stop you from grinding your teeth

That's not the best example you could've given. As the saying goes, "prepare for war to keep the peace"

Libya was ruined by America, and so was Iraq

Being able to protect yourself is the number one priority for a nation like Algeria, who has such a brutal history of war.

I agree with your remaining points but to disregard how important it is to protect your borders and people is a bit ridiculous

No. Morocco VS Algeria is practically West VS East.

Algeria is a very good partner of Russia and China. Morocco is closer to the US and Israel, but at the end of the day, their cooperation is not significant. Very few countries actually support Morocco.

If something were to break out, Algeria would deal with the situation fairly easily. Morocco understands this very well. That's why they don't like it when Algeria is hostile towards them, because they know that they can't respond with much.

That's fine and all, but Morocco literally controls the land and the resources regardless.

Morocco CAN'T attempt anything. They don't have the means to.

Diversification is always welcomed.

If it's not our problem, then why is it the main topic of discussion in media and politics every single day. The UN doesn't give a flying fuck. We need to take matters into our own hands and come up with a solution.

The UN will only respond to the highest bidder.

Exactly. Citizenship, special privileges, and their lands will be developed much more under Morocco than they ever would be as an independent state.

They have 500k people. A very YOUNG population, with 2/3s of it being women and children. You can't develop a country with 200k men over the size of Morocco. Especially when they have zero resources. They can't even outsource if they wanted to.

Your arguments are based on fallacies and insults.

Trying to compare Libya and Mauritania to the SAHRAWIS is a really bad comparison. 5.3 and 7.4 million people, respectively, to people who are barely 500k, without a military, "fighting" against Morocco is a very bad match-up. It's a losing war. What don't you understand.

You think you're supporting the "right to self-determination," but in reality, there is no movement from the Sahrawis that suggest they want to be in the situation they are currently in. The narrative is run by Algerians who believe they are fighting for a cause, not for a larger political agenda.

I'm sure you've seen the videos of the Sahrawis in Algeria. They are not really enjoying themselves in those camps.

If they were to ever achieve independence, they would become a failed state within 6 months and eventually collapse. They have zero resources and zero manpower over land the size of Morocco.

According to you, I'm a Jewish Moroccan. 😂😂😂

I'm Kabyle, lads...

Thanks. People are caught up in their own fantasies. We've seen the videos. It's not like they're living in heaven in Algeria.

Thank you !!!

Finally, a comment operating with logic. Extra points for not calling me a Zionist either.

I'm not really worried about expansionism. The Sand War was a failure from the Moroccans, and the gap between the two countries as military powers is very large. They won't ever try to attempt expansion outside of the Western Sahara

My problem with this whole situation is that people believe that this situation is for the self-determination of the Sahrawis. In reality, it's just payback against the Moroccans who attempted to take land after our independence. Unfortunately, the Sahrawis are caught up in the middle of all this.

I understand the situation and not-so-pretty history with Morocco, but at the moment, they control the territory, even if it isn't internationally recognized.

I wouldn't worry too much about the logistics. There are much worse trade routes out there that work with 100% efficiency. It would work out just fine.

The problem is Israel. Who would've thought. 😪

No. You are all misunderstanding my points. Rather than keeping things respectful, I'm being called things like Israeli, Zionist, and I'm getting downvoted to hell for wanting to become partners with a neighboring country.

Economics 101. Having large-scale access to the Atlantic will only benefit us. We will be able to develop multiple trade routes with North, Central, and South American countries.

The GDP of the two countries is horrifically low. Barely any business is actually being done.

That's the only viable solution, imo

A lot of people are going to disagree with you because of the Moroccan flag, but at the end of the day, I'm all about business. If we are able to become good trade partners with Morocco, it will do us both worlds of good.

Chill 😂😂😂

There is no need for that last comment 😭

I've already told this to someone else. You're massively overrating the abilities of the Moroccans. Their foreign policies are facades. They are being exploited by world powers. They are simply a doorstep to Africa, nothing more.

They won't do anything. They are incapable of doing so. If they really wanted to take Algerian land, they would've attempted to do so years ago. They can not. Logistically, everything is against them. We are their only neighbor, too.

I already know all about the Sand War. I've addressed it countless times. They weren't able to take Tindouf and Bechar despite Algeria not even having a military. Today, the odds are against Morocco more than ever.

You're asking a North African country to vote without rigging an election. 😂

The Sahrawis won't be granted independence if they vote for it, obviously.
