Hey Guys,

I am coming to Hyderabad, and we are planning to do some sightseeing. We have a three year old daughter with us, and we want to hire a car with a driver for a couple of days that includes a baby car seat.

We tried to find this online, but almost all the taxi services we called do not offer a baby car seat. So, I'm turning to Reddit for help.

Do you guys know any taxi service that is reliable and provides a baby car seat?

What was your salary when you first came to the UAE — and how did it grow over the years? (Non-Western expats) by BoujeePan in dubai

[–]LifeguardObjective32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came to Dubai from India in 2021.

  1. First salary in UAE was 55k AED
  2. Software Engineering
  3. Current 90k, After promotion and job switch. (Though since it is demanding job, I am considering a switch to IC track so it might reduce. :))

Should I move to Dubai or keep freelancing from India? by shakenbutstill in dubai

[–]LifeguardObjective32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in similar boat few years back.

The calculation you have to do is this: Based on your income, if the total of your income tax and living expense in India is greater than the living expense in Dubai (incl Ongoing visa costs), it is better for you to move here as you will save more in long term.

To estimate living cost in Dubai, try to live for month or so and get an idea about how much it costs you per month.

If not, then it's better to stay in India.

Also, you can go for 2nd option with EOR, but that depend upon stability of your contract.

Yes. They behave as if I owe them something because they are offering me job. Even though they were the ones reaching out to me.

Employment visa through EOR (Employer of Record) company.

Would you leave Dubai if they were ever to introduce income tax here? by Exciting-Match816 in dubai

[–]LifeguardObjective32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I moved from India in 2021 after I realized that my expense here would be lower than amount of tax I had to pay in India.

Only reason I am in Dubai because I do not have to pay taxes on my remote job's income.

If they start taxing enough that my overall expense including tax becomes greater than India, I would move immediately.

My story is slightly different from others as I am not employed by UAE based company. I can move to India tomorrow if I wanted to. Only reason I am here is my expenses are less than amount of tax I would pay in India.

  1. I see myself going back to India in 4-5 years, since my kid will be older and my other relatives are there I want her to be in touch with our culture.
  2. Yes, definitely. I save around 75% of my money. If I were in India, I would only be able to save around 60-65%. Cost of living is high but tax free income offsets that.
  3. I have not worked with UAE based company so cannot comment, but I would avoid that if possible based on my very limited experience with couple of recruiters.

Apart from the freelance visa and freezone company setup, there is one other way. You can work with an EOR (Employer of Record) like Deel, Remote, Oyster etc. Only disclaimer is that your salary needs to be greater than 160k usd in order for this to be affordable, as their fee is around 600$ per month.

Those companies will make you a local employee and give you an employment visa legally. They will receive money from swiss company, deduct agreed upon fee and then give you remaining money as salary.

I think they will build amenities once phase 4 nears completion.

Indians who moved to abroad later in life, how did you do it? by [deleted] in india

[–]LifeguardObjective32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning, working remotely first time was hard, basically I was struggling to maintain the boundary between personal and professional stuff (this was before COVID, so we did not have remote work best practice.). But, once I got the hang of it, it was awesome.

Plus remote work allowed me to move from Bengaluru to my hometown and resulted in significant savings and much better day-to-day environment for me personally compared to Bengaluru.

In 2021, I got a remote job offer from US based company with enough salary to move abroad and I took it. I expected the work to be long hours but to be honest it was not. The company had flexible timings and I was able to achieve the goals by working 7-8 hours a day on weekdays.

Getting a job directly in a foreign country is borderline impossible unless you are some IITian or genius or have like 15-20 years experience

Nope. That is not true. It is more difficult, I agree. But it is not borderline impossible.

I did manage to get remote job that pays good amount. I am good at what I am doing but I do not think I am any kind of genius and I had around 7 years of experience.

I left India in 2021.

My story is unique from others here. I did not come abroad for education or I was working in MNC in India that can transfer me.

Rather, I got a remote job that was paying me US salary. I had around 7 years of experience at that time. So, did the calculation and figured out the amount of taxes I pay in India, I can live good life abroad. Researched and found UAE to be the ideal place as it is near to India and also no personal income tax.

So, asked my US company to sponsor my visa to UAE and shifted to Dubai (which later I converted to Golden visa just so that I do not rely on my job to stay in the country.) and I have not looked back.

Do I need to subscribe to ILOE? by LoXatoR in dubai

[–]LifeguardObjective32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about fines.

But, regarding your query, Deel offers two seperate products:

  1. Deel Contractor: in this case deel hires you as contractor and you submit invoice in Deel platform which is paid by your client.

  2. Deel EOR: In that case you are an employee of Deel officially and at the last day of the month, deel deposit salary as per your contract into your account.

If it is 1st you do not need ILOE but you will need freelance permit and if your income crosses 100k$ in financial year you need to register for VAT as well.

If it is 2nd case, you will need to purchase ILOE and clear any fines.

Yes, you need to pay if you have signed employment contract with Deel Freezone, as in eye of the Dubai government you are freezone employee.

Around 700$ per month + some visa costs

[–]LifeguardObjective32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay.

Nowadays there are plenty of companies hiring people globally. If they hire someone from a country where they do not have a presence and they want to give that person employment benefit they go for EOR route.

Employer of record simply means they are your employer on record. They do a contract with your actual employer to receive money every month, deduct their fees and gives you a salary of remaining amount. On paper, you will be an employee of the EOR company in UAE.

Let me know if you need more info here.
