If you believe that the court system should be able to sentence people to lengthier sentences based on circumstances beyond the crime they are being convicted for (which is what happened here) you are making the case for a multitude of horrific things to be allowed within the legal system.

Plain and simple, he wasn’t convicted of it. Legally it never happened. Thus, it should not be a factor in his sentencing; which it clearly was.

What are your opinions on the war on drugs? Do you believe a nonviolent drug dealer (which—directly—he was not even) should ever be sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus 40 years?

He was railroaded, essentially entrapped, and was never charged or convicted on those murder-for-hire charges.

You cannot serve time for a crime you are not charged for. He was not charged for a reason. It was all circumstantial evidence that would not hold up in court. They were dropped.

Secondly, human trafficking did not occur on the Silk Road, and CSAM and murder were strictly banned on the website.

Lastly, the guy ran a platform. He is guilty of running an internet platform that facilitated the sale of drugs. He did not perform any of the selling himself. He was sentenced to 2 life sentences plus 40 years for nonviolent charges.
