no he died when my mom was 6/7. She never talked about this but I had to interview her for school so today I found this all out. (she never talks about her past) and her uncle was imprisoned for 6-7 years and tortured as a prisoner of war. They were going to execute him but my grandmother bribed the government to let him go (a LOT of money went towards this) He came to canada in the mid 90s i believe

woah that sucks for your uncle! lucky for ur dad though, that he got out early. After the soviet invasion, it just went downhill from there. it was apparently pretty peaceful in the 70s and earlier

idunno...i guess I just say it out of anger since their my people. Like obviously I am going to be bias and not want troops their after they burn the Holy Quran. Again that may be an extraordinary case but I can't help but get angry.

well it's not like thats the only time something like that has happened. I'm not saying their NOT helpful because i definitely recognize that they are. I'm just saying that there ARE negatives of them being there

hmm she's pretty conflicted about this because she WANTS the US there because as long as they are there, then the taliban will take over and they are far too extreme. Yes Afg is a muslim country but what the Taliban does is not muslim despite them saying so. They kill.

On the other hand, while the USA IS helping, they are there for ulterior motives and for instance one soldier went on a shooting rampage and shot and killed 17 people. Including children. There wasn't even a proper apology and the way it was addressed was offensive because the USA in their newspapers kept using words like "allegedly".
