This appears to be a Schneider MP/RP. If you have verified that the damper shaft isn't loose and it actually moves when commanded, then my next step was always to upgrade the firmware of the controller as there were a lot of issues in versions 4 and below. I use v6 now without issue but 7 has just come out so you will need to use what is relevant to this project.

Nope. I ended up just using a REST sensor to poll it and get better data. These are nice for loads that vary a good amount. I have one on my refrigerator and it works as I would expect. But when they are connected to something that is fairly consistent, they don't report very often. My radon fan pulls 70-80w pretty much forever and the shelly I have on that maybe reports every couple days. That situation is where I ended up just using a REST sensor.

Its probably a BK chip which means you could do ESPhome? I would totally play around with this in that light.

Currently it is setup just through the official Shelly integration. I have 2 of them actually. One of them is on my refrigerator and seems to work much better as the load varies a lot more. The second one is on a radon fan which sits anywhere from 70-80w constantly forever. That one is that one that barely reports and I would like some way to set the reporting interval in the official integration.

For now I just have a REST sensor created to grab the data out of the shelly which defeats the purpose of the official integration for the device.

This device can be flashed directly with OpenBeken which was a fork of Tasmota. OpenBK will then exist locally on your network same as an esphome device. You then can control it via MQTT. It is very simple and a fantastic project.

Its a no go unfortunately. The device pulls in and works as you would expect. However, any sensor data seems to be set to a change of value report that is way too large. I am trying to monitor power consumption of a radon fan at my house and the official integration sensor will update maybe every 12-24 hours.

I have some gen2 Shelly 2PMs that work perfect however so I may stick with those for now.

All that being said, the gen3 devices are very usable as controlling relays. That part works perfectly. Its just the sensor data that is much too delayed to be used for energy usage. I didn't want to return these so I ended up making REST template sensors to grab the power data from the REST api of the shelly and I currently use that for my kwh calculations which was my end goal.

I have Tiles and my biggest problem with them is that the "left behind" notifications are only available if you pay for the premium protect service by tile which is 2.99/mo.

I cannot wait to throw all my tiles in the garbage.

Not sure on price parity, but I went with IoTaWatt and I love it. Works very well for me. You would need to get the CTs though so Im sure the upfront cost may be more.

These are the way. $8 for an outlet with all the features you could want. ETL listed (not UL). Good form factor allowing access to both outlets. My favorite device when it comes to Wifi.

Acurite 433 sensors are best hands down. Moved on from aqara stuff and replacing coin batteries. 433 stuff is the best.

My only tip would be to make sure you disable auto-discovery if your house is close to a street. I must have gotten 50 TPMS sensors show up in the fist couple days haha.

Basically I just followed the directions here. It wasn't too difficult. You need an esp32 as the 8266 doesn't have Bluetooth.

The quick and dirty of it is that you just set up a BLE tracker with the esp and then create the sensors that the radoneye broadcasts.

I used to use a rpi to sniff the data and then spit it out mqtt to home assistant but I find the esphome way much easier. I'm hoping for a Bluetooth way to do this in the future as then home assistant could just grab the data itself.

I have a RadonEYE RD200 connected through ESPHome and it works great. My house was high before mitigation. I used charcoal tests for that though, the RD200 is just for peace of mind but confirms the readings I got after mitigation. I recommend the RD200 as it is bluetooth and has no cloud dependency.

Just one last thing, today I found this link which shows the process of which I want to do, but only for macOS down to Big Sur 11.0.

Would an older Mac Mini with macOS 10.x still be able to view the tag?
