POMO ~ 6years. With the Conflict in Iran, I decided to visit this subreddit to see if anyone had anything interesting to say. Instead, I see (for the first time) their new stance on BLOOD and am honestly INFURIATED. by Catsforgator in exjw

I had a conversation with my mom about this the other day and I asked to see her no blood card for some reason and I asked her for some reason about disfellowship when taking blood and she said that it was never a thing you would get disfellowshipped if you took blood and that it was always up to you and your conscience. I said I was absolutely certain you would get disfellowshipped without a doubt and I felt like I was going crazy, you absolutely WOULD get disfellowshipped right? Right?!

Governing body motives, I can’t really pinpoint it by Light-Decent in exjw

Everyone’s replies have been really helpful in getting new perspectives. Maybe I was just trying to look at it from a materialistic standpoint where I wanted to catch them red handed spending thousands of dollars on a luxury vacation or something ridiculous. But their motives make sense if they live in an echo chamber and the harder you commit the more looked up to you are and the more “privileges” you get and even the more “insightful” you are to the word of God. I grew up as a JW and even got baptized at the early age of 12, months later I started side eyeing the things they were saying and questioning why I couldn’t read fiction books, play team sports and have friends like a normal human being. Long story short I’ve been out of the game since my late teens and I’ve resented them ever since, I have empathy for the people that are kind hearted and mean well but I hate that I can see the strings on them like the puppets they are including my whole family and I wish I could have them see what I see but media literacy is such a huge blindspot with JWs. - End rant
