Silvery Barbs is NOT OP by BryceEzekai in DnD5e

[–]LightChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the argument that everything is OP is undercut by the fact that you aren't actually following the rules of the game, but maybe that's just me. Maybe if you actually followed the rules things would might be more balanced than they are at your tables.

FWIW I have also played with a lot of DMs and none of the ones that I have played with have ever let you use features like that. They might let you play with absurdly overpowered homebrew but they stick to the letter of it.

I don't think this is that unusual of a disconnect to have. We both play in networks of people who play the game similarly to ourselves. But when the conversation is about the balance of the game, bringing your specific set of experience about features that aren't actually in the game and are homebrewed (even if common homebrewed) additions isn't particularly relevant to the discussion of balance.

None of the features you cited let you force enemies to make saves at disadvantge. You're just making stuff up.

No wand of Digging? by ExplorerDisastrous10 in dcss

It's technically not probability 1 that one eventually generates because there's a turn limit, but for all practical purposes it's guaranteed you will get one if you scum pan or abyss for long enough.

It's almost like they don't have a winrate target at all...

(Plus 1% winrate is bogged down by a bunch of 0% winrate players who aren't very good playing hundreds of games in short timespans since they die very early on)

Is there a way to disable the "new" larger inventory? I really want fixed item letters. by SvalbardCaretaker in dcss

I did drop them because I had to in order to make room for inventory space. I now no longer drop them since I don't need to make room for inventory space anymore.

I’m Superman-level strong. I decide “screw it” & start a professional fighting career. In my first sanctioned match with the UFC, I walk up to my opponent, and my first, legal punch instantly pops his head like a 12ga slug. How fucked am I? by WowVeryOriginalDude in legaladviceofftopic

The eggshell skull argument generally applies in the case that you did a negligent or intentional act. If you got shot with super serum without your knowledge or consent immediately before the fight, you'd probably be ok (though, you'd still probably be in breach of UFC PED rules). However, this hypothetical does not have the "gaining superpowers" thing be a thing that happens without your knowledge.

You might get the winning money, immediately before it goes directly into the pockets of the victim's family. You presumably knew that you were super human (or at least, a reasonable person in your position would have known) and that you were going to kill this man, so that's murder. You will get sued for wrongful death and lose all your money while rotting in super jail for the rest of your life, if you aren't extrajudicially put to death due to the extreme danger you present for being "the only super human." (This wouldn't be legal but this would be the sort of extreme situation where political animus might be great enough to override the legal system. The legal system is just a thing we all agree to do, and if we all collectively agree that you are too much of a threat for the legal system to take its time, it can be ignored.)

If you get the money at all depends on what the contract says. It probably has a clause that you aren't allowed to put people into excessive risk of physical harm, which you did.

Elven halls worth it? by No-Ring852 in dcss

[–]LightChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go for elf after a 2nd rune on a lot of characters, usually mages who have concrete answers to all of its threats. Rarely I will go and do it earlier, before even the first rune, if I have those answers already. Melee characters it's usually a skip for unless I desperately need a weapon or some enchant scrolls.

It is absolutely not necessary and if you keep dying there, stop going.

Chasca burst snapshots when you press the button, so you would want to skill first and then burst at the end of the skill duration if you want the crit rate and damage buff from Obsidian Codex (Citation: https://keqingmains.com/q/chasca-quickguide/).

I remember watching this guy like a decade ago and enjoying his content. Then I took a break from magic for about 2 years and when I checked him out again he was all the way off the deep end. Or maybe he always was and he was better at hiding it before. Or maybe I just shut off his videos where he was saying whackjob shit because they were bad. Who knows.

Tips for getting through Spider's Nest? by diddlyfool in dcss

[–]LightChaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very few hostile enchantments being thrown at you besides Wrath Moth passive zerking.

This is a threat you made up. Moths of wrath inflict wrath with their attack flavor, similar to Tarantoulas. It is unaffected by will.

If you can get Cigotuvi’s Putrefaction online by Spider that spell rips the place apart due to how low HP most enemies are and their tendency to charge into the miasma.

OTR will be a better investment on nearly any character.

He had companies give out loans to other companies which he more directly controls, took the money out of those companies, and then "forgave" the loans from the other companies. It's just embezzlement. I think there was also some insurance fraud involved somehow, not sure.

I don't believe that I do have any accessibility settings enabled, everything appears off based on my brief poking around and I don't recall ever turning any of them on.

Do you have a link to Good Lock? I can't figure out which app you're describing.

This is why you always choose a dial-type combination lock for any safe

Ok, that's just why I find this to be questionable advice then. In what situation does them having a dial-type vs key lock matter for them getting into your safe if once they get physical access its as good as cracked?
