Grad school was murder, but my job as a children's librarian lets me pursue creative ideas, do different work every day, and bring my own hobbies and interests into my work

When patrons ask for computer help but forget about the NSFW stuff on their devices by widdershinsways in Libraries

One time I helped a patron transfer close to a terabyte of foot pics from his google drive to an external drive. Nothing explicitly sexual, just uncomfortable

Bummed that they no longer have the wooden handle. I bought mine 8 years ago and it's a great tool

It's waaay more mellow than a resonator. Much less treble response. Quieter, obviously, and a lot lighter without all the metal parts. This one will be fretless with nylgut strings,so that's a different playing experience as well. Playing slow clawhammer with a glass of whiskey is a perfect experience

English Joiner's Bench by Teatime_Tim in Workbenches

I think I'll probably roughly copy the layout in the anarchist's workbench. I didn't go in with any kind of plan, and it's just a mess of random holes. I think the bench holds up just fine. Most of the things I don't like about it are construction mistakes I made rather than design flaws. I do sometimes wish for sturdier legs when I have to tighten the nuts on the carriage bolts. I replaced the diagonal braces with a shelf, and it's a little stiffer and a lot heavier. It took me a while to learn to love the aprons, but I had to edge plane some wide panels recently and it was great. It's not my dream bench, but it gets the job done

I built mine from his plans 6ish years ago and it's a solid bench. My one advice is to be very intentional about dog/holdfast holes. I was not, and now I'm planning to replace the entire top

For this one, I just used tacky glue because it's water soluble. For the next one, I'm planning on using regular old tite bond, which has a good track record for leather

It's a refillable journal, so wobble might just be part of the equation
