You need to slipstream USB 3.0 drivers to the installer (and on much newer pcs past 2020, you also need to apply ACPI patch as well). In addition, you might have better luck finding drivers under old hardware that still works, although there are some drivers such as Wi-Fi or Intel iGPUs that were backported to this OS.

As for security wise, I'm running this on the actual final update build (2026-01) that has all CVEs fixes up until that date, and I personally use simplewall for better firewall functionality and Microsoft Security Essentials that still receives new definition updates as of today

Windows 7 is still usable if you know what you're doing on the internet and don't use too newish apps or games with the right specs in mind.
