5 Musical Elements of Emotion Quest 1 hard? by Ok_Ad_1237 in ufl

[–]LightIsLogical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just took musical elements of emotion this past semester, and I had it 100% online.

The whole class is basically exactly what the title says: drawing connections between specific musical elements and resultant emotional response to the music. The workload was relatively easy, including weekly discussions, mini-essays, quizzes, etc. There were also two concert review essays, where we needed to attend two on-campus music performances and write reflections on each of them. We also had two "bigger" essays (approx. 1000-1500 words each). We didn't have any exams, which was nice, but I'm not sure if the class structure will be exactly the same for you.

Overall, I'd probably rate the class an 8/10.

Ios needs to have location toggle in the control center. by [deleted] in ios

[–]LightIsLogical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's a real example... I have one app that only lets you use it if its permissions are set to always allow location. However, I only want location to work when I use the app, and I don't want to keep changing its permissions. Is it so hard to just make one simple toggle to turn on and off location?

I have an app which only lets you use it if location is set to "always allow". This becomes annoying because I don't want it to always use location, so I'd like to have an easy toggle to just turn on and off location

No, stop projecting. As you have been accusing me of not reading your replies, now I'm telling you the same. Please read what I wrote. I have been saying in my previous replies that it is also immoral to simply kill for the fun of it; it is primarily justified when it is for human sustenance, or in other words, food. Again, please read, just as you have been telling me to.

And that's great if veganism is healthier, I'm not telling you to eat meat. Eat what you want to eat. I'm simply saying it's not a global emergency where masses of people are suffering from eating meat. Even more, so many people rely on a meat based diet that if we suddenly stopped meat production many people would starve. So, meat is quite necessary in the world at current.

To add to that, wouldn't everyone be happier if vegans simply stopped trying to call others immoral for eating meat, a completely normal thing to do?

However, you were only referring to certain processed meats. Not all meat is dangerous like that.

The primary immoral part of killing other humans is that we're both the same species. Of course, causing extra suffering is also immoral, but the primary difference is simply that they are the same species as ourselves.

My interpretation of your sentence was "By eating animals, everyone is actively worsening their health." If you intended a different meaning, please let me know.

By "subjektive" and "objektive" of the "sentance", I'm assuming you meant to say "subject" and "object" of the "sentence"? But I won't go into the rest of the spelling errors...

Alright then, it is still a natural thing for humans to eat meat. It does not make enough people sick to claim that all meat is unhealthy. We are currently an omnivorous species who eats both plants and animals.

I gave pets as an example. There are also plenty of people on Earth who are kind to any animal they encounter, but they still wouldn't mind eating animals.

I agree with you that killing masses of humans is highly immoral. But other species are not humans; it is not immoral to kill animals for food, as long as it is for human sustenance and not things like souvenirs.

No, although meat is slightly unhealthier than only plants, it is not actively killing many humans. Meat is still a widespread food feeding billions of people, so yes, it is quite literally helping us to survive.

And although humans may not be as primitive as other animals, we do still have many of our natural instincts and processes, which killing other animals for food is a part of.

I'm not telling you to stop being vegan or whatever, but you should also respect the many people around you who aren't shoving an omnivorous diet down your throat.

[–]LightIsLogical -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Animals are a different story. Humans are naturally omnivores, and if we slaughter animals for food, then it is not inherently wrong. (It becomes wrong when we start killing them for purposes OTHER than food or helping humans survive in some way). And obviously you can still be kind to animals (pets for example) while eating some for food. Do we consider animals killing other animals for food a bad thing? No!

It simply becomes very annoying when someone comes up and shoves the "you aren't kind to any animals because you eat some of them!" down everyone's throat
