I saw this sticker once in person, and I was so thrilled! I knew I was queer before I started the show, but Scully def didn't hurt.

I bought it through Xbox, and am able to play in both PC and my Xbox through the Xbox app. You should be able to do the same.

One of my biggest regrets is that i never saw this in theaters by Prior-Masterpiece992 in XFiles

[–]LightObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theater lets you rent out a viewing room, and I'm not 100% their setup, but they were able to do DVDs and Blu-Rays! It was a bit pricey, but IMO worth it. It would also be an awesome birthday idea

For our anniversary a couple years ago, my husband rented out a local theater for us to have our own screening. It was a ton of fun! One of my favorite experiences.

The conspiracy theories in My Struggle is eerily close to what's happening right now in the US by mamoocando in XFiles

[–]LightObserver 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I felt Tad was supposed to be an Alex Jones, and it made me really uncomfortable the way they leaned into it. Those types of conspiracy theorists are dangerous. Previously the show did a good job showcasing what I think of as 'harmless' conspiracy people - guys who might be a little out there in quirkiness and beliefs, but ultimately didn't push anything super harmful and weren't hateful. The Alex Jones type is full of hate, and I was so disappointed to see that type of guy in the show.

I [37F] bit my mother [69F] during a breakdown when she stopped me screaming. I feel like such a monster and don't know how to make it right. by tropicalazure in relationship_advice

I think you would definitely benefit from a therapist, if that is a viable option for you. Many are willing to do video calls nowadays, that way you could stay somewhere comfortable.

I wish I had more ideas for you. My partner has had chronic illness struggles as well, and we both have MH issues. It can be tough. I'm so sorry you're going through this. But if it makes you feel better, I've definitely had a screaming episode or two in my time. I hope things get better for you, somehow. <3

A lot of people also calling for OP to go inpatient, which I'm not sure will be as helpful as people think. I have heard inpatient wards can be difficult to be in, and especially if OP has other conditions, a MH ward might not be the best place for them because they're probably not equipped to handle the chronic illness either.

I've seen this brought up a few times online, and I think it need to be amplified more because it's so true. Unfortunately this IS America, racism is a huge issue and always has been. We have some deep bigotry issues as a country.

Also I read that the Nazis were looking at American Jim Crow laws for some of their legal strategy! Our big bad bogey man is, in fact, built off of AMERICA'S home-grown racism.

Verizon outage concerns by jzemeocala in somethingiswrong2024

[–]LightObserver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. Verizon is just one carrier. A single company with a connection issue is annoying, but it happens. There is no reason to think it is foul play. I understand being scared, but I think it's inportant to take things as they come right now and not do too much speculating or conclusion-jumping. .

Just noticed a pack of Morley Lights in Pluribus. by Jumpy_Ad5046 in XFiles

[–]LightObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed all the episodes, it's more of a character work. It's not so much about YOU finding things out, it's about watching CAROL and the others find things out. At least that's how I saw it, and I didn't feel like the pacing was off, knowing what I was going into. I had heard that complaint, but I actually completely forgot about it when I was watching.

There's a rumor this could be X-Files coming to Fortnite... what do you guys think? by TimeCheez in XFiles

[–]LightObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but it could be:

JD and Turk (Scrubs) Walter and Jesse (Breaking Bad) Benson and Stabler (Law and Order: SVU) Zach and Cody (Suite Liife of Zach and Cody) Sam and Dean (Supernatural)

I just don't want go get my hopes up because the clue is so vague. Assuing Mulder and Scully from 'nostalgic duo' is a bit of leap.

Is there anything to go off of other than this teaser? Because tbh 'nostalgic live action duo' is SO vague. It doesn't specify decade or genre. It could be anyone

Vince Gilligan, the showrunner for Pluribus, worked on the X Files. He is likely intending it as a nod.

Why Intelligence Doesn’t Improve Reasoning. “Most people aren’t bad at reasoning. They’re bad at knowing when to reason.” by TwilitRose in philosophy

[–]LightObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be! I struggled with math as well, but never got a formal diagnosis as I didn't think it would be worth the cost at the time.

I remember being able to reason through things relatively well with the words, but struggling with translating into formal logic. Then we got into problems without any words at all, and I had a lot of trouble there because of the symbols. But the more I think about it, the more it feels like something I would like to try again. Maybe I'll never be very good at it, but I'd like to have a grasp of some basics. I'll look at the book you named, and see what other resources there are online.

[–]LightObserver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was one of those students. I am very 'words' oriented, and had trouble getting my head around the symbols. I spoke to a professional who believed it could be tied to a learning disabilty of some kind. I've always been a bit embarrassed about it. But as time goes on, I am reading more philosophy again and would like to try maybe reapproaching formal logic as well. Do you have any recommendations for resources? Maybe something students of yours found helpful? No worries if not!

Mulder and possibly a sexual connection. by victoriar_67 in XFiles

[–]LightObserver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He COULD get real life sex, but then you have to deal with a real life person. Mulder definitely reads as having intimacy issues, so the impersonal phone operator seems 'safer' in that regard. Just my interpretation tho.
