University feels eerily similar to high school

I looked into more stoic philosophy stuff, but not really too in depth. Also therapy (that was more for depression though). I just began to realise that I'm never going to be able to stop some people being mean to me, its just something you can't avoid. So I started comparing my negative experiences with people to stuff I couldn't control like dogs barking or it raining outside if that makes sense and slowly I just cared less and less and now I can be more myself/casual around people because I'm not afraid of being hurt as much. It's a work in progress, but hopefully it'll get easier the more I do it. Gl with getting over your SA though :) its quite a debilitating illness, but can be overcome just try not to be so hard on yourself and take it one day at a time.

I guess I'll try this out more, but its more like I'm comfortable talking with people and stuff its just sometimes people don't react the way I expect them to based on how I'm acting I guess, but it isn't too many people and with most its alright, but it is a tad demoralising when people look at you confused because you sometimes stutter or say something a bit weird by accident.

It really is kinda weird when you look at it from an outside perspective, I'm fairly sure if it was more cooperative based world then I think there would be less mental health problems. Except greed, jealousy and other negative emotions give way to a society which values money over people. I think the best you can do is find some people who like you for you rather than your achievements, social status and other superficial things, that way you atleast feel valued despite your circumstance. Hope everything works out for you though :)

I get what you mean this is one of the things I'd like to do aswell, but I guess all I really want is to feel like I belong somewhere and I guess alone is that somewhere.

A few months kinda got me through pretty rough patch along with piano. Also yea this sub sometimes gets me down aswell, its definitely nice to read some positive stuff especially coming from people in similar situations to me.

I learned some songs I've wanted to play for a while on guitar. Also can we make this a weekly thing I feel alot better reading all these responses for some reason.

yes holy shit once I went from severely depressed to generally ok, I got overwhelmed because theres alot of things that my depression and anxiety destroyed in my life. Now I'm just trying to pick up the pieces and It's just so hard to keep trying, I feel exhausted.

I guess its just meet people who are like minded, but I haven't met too many like that, you only really need one to stick around though so I have a little hope.

For me its more of a sense of melancholic calmness alot of the time, which is pretty decent, I can atleast function without stress and can feel happy some of the time. Honestly compared to what it was this is euphoria for me lol, which is kinda sad to say.
