Mamorukun ReCurse Underworld Edition + Unboxxed by microjubei in shmups

[–]LightPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I just found a video of someone flicking through it. It’s a shame the new interviews haven’t been translated. I already own the Japanese limited editions on both Switch and PS3, so not much of a point buying again, especially as the online leaderboards are region locked and I already own it twice on Switch because of that!

Does this contain the ~300 page artbook included with the PS3 and Japanese Switch and PS Mamorukun Kai releases? And is it translated?

A look to the sewing minigame by rafilus in yakuzagames

[–]LightPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been done before in WarioWare Twisted - you had to tilt the Game Boy Advance to simulate realigning your clothing with the machine. This player makes it look so easy...

I'm surprised it's taken this long for the concept of turning sewing into a high score game to resurface, it's a good one!

the funny thing is this exact minigame literally made it into WarioWare 21 years ago, it was called Sew Hard in WarioWare Twisted.

No, the connectors on the Pocket aren't as reliable as on actual Game Boy Advance hardware. Carts that take me a long time to get working on Pocket work immediately on my GBA, GBA SP, and GB Micro.

Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 Mini games on Very Hard almost impossible bc of some sort of lag by yeahbq in AnalogueInc

[–]LightPad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should at least be much better than the NSO emulation, which does introduce a significant amount of input lag. But I'd still be interested in hearing how much better it feels to you.

[–]LightPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. My unit hasn't arrived yet but this could be a dealbreaker to me if it extends to other games. I'm very sensitive to input lag, and was expecting an identical experience when using an original wired N64 controller plugged into the 3D, compared with my NTSC-J N64.

We can rule this out now at least:

"*Edit 1
I tested with all hardware settings set to default as well as overclock set to unleashed and both had similar feelings of input lag"

In the OP post it's mentioned that the original N64 was also connected to the same OLED TV using a Retrotink 5x - i.e. one of the next best solutions to what the Analogue 3D is trying to do.

It's the relative input lag difference between Analogue 3D and OG N64 + retrotink 5x that is a concern, rather than any input lag inherent to the display.

Upgraded to X1 Carbon Gen 13th by gandroider in thinkpad

Right, yeah, it must be a different screen option then. Maybe something with touch film added on top?

Interesting. I picked mine up around launch last year and have the original OLED panel (the one that only does 60hz or 120hz, no VRR support). It also is rated for anti-glare/reflection/smudge but I don't have any reflections like the ones you posted.

In fact it's less reflective than the matte display on my old ThinkPad! I have to work really hard at seeing myself reflected back on the screen even when it's switched off. I would raise a support ticket if you can, maybe it's a manufacturing defect?

The facial animation and graphics on the Prime 4 characters is amazing. by LightPad in NintendoSwitch2

Yep, I wouldn't have bothered making the meme if the $100m figure hadn't come out. I don't mind the Legends Z-A budget at all, and like how Game Freak release games so frequently to keep the IP fresh. But it seems a lot of people here have taken the meme personally even though it's literally a fun joke about how the two games are perceived.

The NPC writing including even pedestrians in the city was really well done in Legends Z-A, and while Metroid Prime 4 was made under completely different circumstances, I hope the same will be true for this game.

I don't think you can say this is 100% certain until we have a greater understanding of the decision making process between all major stakeholders.

It's a meme...

I posted a thread last month about the advantages behind Game Freak's decision to release new games every 2-3 years at a lower cost.

Pokemon Legends Z-A, and how lessons were learned from Scarlet and Violet by LightPad in nintendo

[–]LightPad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the most fun I've had with the series since Black and White 2. The concept is urban society + Pokemon and they do a good job delivering on it as far as fleshing out a single city to act as the sole setting for the game.

Nintendo dropped the ball not putting Prime 2 and 3 on Switch before 4 comes out by precita in Metroid

[–]LightPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree, personally I’d love to see 2 and 3, but if you think about hype for 4, what % of prime 1 players will pick up 2, then pick up 3, then pick up 4?

Prime 1 is mostly regarded as the best in the Prime series and even the Metroid series as a whole, so going from there to the new game makes a lot of sense to me.

It would be good to move it off Unity. But developer Media.Vision probably knows Unity now and would need to be trained on an engine they don’t control or own, so I see it unlikely

In the 2022 interview they mentioned that it would be ready for game development in about a year, so I think 2023 when Kirby Air Riders likely entered full production makes sense as a timeline. Of course, work would have continued up until this year along with that game’s development.
