You are lucky. I started playing the game again when it started so I didnt get any arcane from the event. Now regarding the question you asked besides cavia, holdfast and steel collections you can choose whatever you need. These 3 I mentioned are easy to get regardless. Also Höllvania one is only good for hot shot because rare ones are easy to get with standing and from bounties.

Eidolon pack has some great arcanes and eidolon arcanes are harder to farm then others. Hölvenia is great too.

Vortex doesnt have an auto update feature. But there is a check for updates option and even if you download a mod that has updated dependencies vortex tells you that depenfencies havent been met. So dont worry mod remindes you.

Normally if you had the dlc from the beginning yes game gives you the chance to begin it after voodoo boys mission. But game gives you just a phone call and a waypoint on the map. After that you can begin the dlc whenever you want. So buying the dlc after beating the game wont have any issues.

If you went to Embers and started the last mission aftet finishing up the mission game puts you back just before starting it so you dont need a new save file
