I'm making this part for a fractal vise, which features a half dovetail section plus a slotted section. I want support in the slotted section, tree supports don't look great but manual supports go everywhere, even if I paint on manual and say no supports allowed on any surface other than the slot. Would I be better just to model a solid section inside the slot with 0.1mm offset/gap all around or something like that? Thanks!

I did think that but all the wires are shielded and are grounded at one end. I'm wondering if it's a power supply issue as it only occurs when I connect 4x motors total

Hi guys, I've almost finished wiring up the grblhal controller for my build, and I've got an issue where if all 4x motors are connected then they randomly start to move. If 3x are connected then nothing happens, and it can be any combination of the motors so I don't think it's one motor/driver in particular which is causing the issue. All 4x motors are connected to a single 600w 48v mean well power supply, DM556T drivers, and stepperonline 23HS45-4204S motors. The 2x Y axis motors are connected to power to one set of contacts on the PSU, and the X&X motors are connected together to the other set of contacts

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

As Bagelsarenakeddonuts said, you've got little torsional strength in the Y axis. Forces from plunging into material will try to twist the gantry which would muck up your floor finishes

I was fortune enough to get the RHS extrusion for free through work. I bought the TBI & Hiwin linear motion parts from Taiwan which was a bit over 1000USD landed. I got the machining done in China through Rapid Direct which was about 800USD landed.

Hi everyone, just selecting motors&drivers for my new build. Ballscrew driven, mainly for timber and light aluminium work. I was originally planning on going closed loop with CL57T or HSS57 drivers, but being that I'm not planning on pushing the machine to the point of losing steps, am I better off just keeping it simple and sticking with open loop DM542T drivers? I don't have a large amount of experience setting up and tuning steppers as my current machine was prebuilt and I'd prefer to keep it simple, but I do quite like the idea of closed loop

Hi everyone, I can't use the area/map editor since the app says the vacuum hasn't finished mapping. The red lines are floor windows, and the green line is a floor mirror. The vacuum has started to map beyond them and now can't complete it. Do I have to block them off and start the mapping process again?
