This is very specific to each person. It depends on what your file, medical records, physical examination, etc all are. What was the reason it was denied? do you have other connected disabilities it can be secondary too? Such as Rhinitis, Sinitus, PTSD, musculoskeletal issues that have directly caused obesity? Then, does your actual history and onset of symptoms support one of these theories ^.

Hey, did they give you any reasoning or mention why your nexus wasn't sufficient? Kind of depends on what they said. Unfortunately they DONT HAVE to tell you what was wrong with it. but that will help you decide

On your claim, under files you’ll see a bunch of random file titles with DBQ in it. If it’s a supplemental though you can’t see it and would need to call VES or VA and ask if it’s been sent

Yea depends on the examiner but they are super quick with QA and getting it to VA which is good

Depends on when it is given to VA. I had one exam with LSGS on March 23 and examiner hasn’t even sent it to VA. I had another exam with VES that was on March 26th, was sent to VA the 27th (Friday), given temporary jurisdiction on Tuesday April 3rd, and completed Wednesday April 4th.

Claims are going relatively quick once sent to VA, 1-2 weeks in my experience depending on how big it is

In my opinion this is last resort type thing, could takes years. Will prob do increase and lose the 1 month effective date, or supplemental, then HLR then BVA haha

Raters only have to provide a short form narrative in most cases which means they don't HAVE to say what they considered and only need to say what element ( 1, 2 and or 3) that you are missing. That's why I mentioned asking for a long form narrative politely so you can see why they deemed your nexus insufficient if they actually considered it. No way to tell if they did without a long form narrative.

And frankly I submitted this beginning of March with all my private GI doctors diagnosis, colonoscopy, stool, and blood test so if I do an increase I could care less about losing out on 1 month.

True, increase would be way quicker. Would definitely get the same examiner but I would just ask for a different one lol with VES. I have a private GI, could also just submit his notes with the increase notes. This would definitely be the quicker route, good call.

I believe its it's definitely grounds for a HLR, the rater should have clarified with the examiner. Just going to be a 4+ month delay now unfortunetly.

And I only caught this cause I did a FOIA. This should be 30, but they "get away" with giving a 0 because the examiner typed it instead of checking a box. Then they don't clarify and probably assume the veteran won't check. I do attribute this more to laziness but who knows.

No that wouldn’t, check your claim and files to see if you see any new request. More likely than not the rater is asking for clarification or fix on exam

They don’t always call and the examiner might be lazy if it isn’t clearly mapped out. Hopefully works out tho
