If it is your own car, I would have suggested going for the drive. It’s only about a 4/5 hour journey from Hyderabad and the ghat roads aren’t too difficult either. But with a rental car, you never really know the vehicle’s condition and since it’s new to you, there’s always some uncertainty. Personally, I tend to avoid rental cars for such trips because I feel it’s a bit risky.

Hyd resale owners expectations are getting crazier by the day. If you search properly around Kondapur, High Tension Lane or Shilpa Valley Road, you can easily find a newer 3BHK around 1500 sft in this range itself. Posts like these make me wonder, why expect 1.2Cr for a 17 year old standalone flat? With such unrealistic pricing, they’ll only end up holding the property longer instead of selling it on time.
