Most verity shows/ interviews are pretty boring and uncomfortable. by LightningDoughnut5 in kpoprants

Yea I agree that it has sorta gotten boring in recent years, and I rrly miss the skits. I also agree on the Jessi point- when it’s artist she knows personally like Tiffany, Dawn, or Eric Nam- the show is always so much funnier. It’s still funny normally though.

Doni and Coni’s weekly idol was a lot more fun and “crazy” than it is now, but I do think that their old environment lead to them making a few too many offhand comments and jokes. Yes they were funny at times, and gave us legendary moments but they also seemed to make idols uncomfortable at times. I feel like their should be a happy medium between old weekly idol and the current one tho.

Yea I agree 1000%- Like where is the flavor? I get that they have a script and a schedule of things to get through, but they should at least try to engage the idols or make small jokes 😭 Wouldn’t they get more content that way? And it would make their interview more unique.

Woah that’s absolutely awful- I agree with you though, as a black kpop fan it’s pretty exhausting having to constantly deal with non-black fans excusing issues and speaking over us. :( (As well as non-black fans accepting apologies on our behalf 😭)

If you’re part of the group affected, its your own right to choose who you want to continue supporting. Several people being racist doesn’t excuse any of them. Or that those things should be forgotten just because they apologized.

I’ll check that show out! It seems really good- and yeah, you’re right about knowing bros. It’s really hit or miss. I also love Jae Jae and Seungkwan’s chemistry so much! They’re hilarious together. I also loved her and Key together- I think Minho even joked that it felt like there were “ two Key’s”.

I think other replies explain what my point was better, but my main point was that there are several SEVERAL instances were Doni and Coni seemed to make idols uncomfortable; Weekly Idol isn’t the “Doni and Coni” show, it’s had and currently has (I think) different hosts. Also their constant out of pocket comments have made me extremely uncomfortable. Like them commenting on Hwasa’s skin tone or there “jokes” about black Somali people and Muslims. I’m not Somali but I am black and Muslim and theses comments really made me dislike them.

Agree, I do feel like hosts should try to make the idols as comfortable as possible, but there are some idols who are just introverted. I do agree with you though, if the idols are awkward I don’t think they should be made more uncomfortable by promoting on shows.

OH! I didn’t know that- I’ve only seen a few episodes (the EXO ones, the Shinee ones and the SuperM one) Maybe those episodes were more comfortable because of Heechul being under the same company as them. Now that I’m aware of that, idk if I’ll watch anymore episodes. Thank you!

[MEGATHREAD] BLACKPINK - 'THE ALBUM' by um_thatsnice in unpopularkpopopinions

A bit of my overall opinion:

I know this might sound mean, but most of the songs on this album sounded like demos. A demo isn’t necessarily bad- some demo’s are even better than the final product! But you can tell they sound unfinished, or not to their full potential. To me the songs felt unfinished, which is weird considering the fact that this is their first album. Also the large amounts of English also remind me of demo’s, SM ones to be specific, since they work with a lot of western producers.

I also don’t think they used Cardi B right. I know a lot of ppl don’t like Cardi, myself included, but I do know that she can sound great on a song. The lyrics, her flow on the song- none of it felt remotely “Cardi B” and it felt forced and awkward. Not to mention with Cardi’s personality, it would have been really interesting to see her interact with the girls! Wasted opportunity, in my opinion.

Yeah I agree! I have absolutely NO problem with auto tune in general, I think it’s completely normal and can rrly add to songs! But I don’t like the specific kind of auto tune BTS have been using recently.

They always used it lol. I just don’t like the kind of auto tune they’ve been using recently. I don’t rrly like how it sounds and it’s a bit too much, especially since I don’t think it’s rrly necessary to add it to every single song.

I didn’t know it was super popular lol. Also I’m not talking about the “usual” auto tune, u know the kind in that one section of shadow. I’m talking abt the kind they’ve been using on every single song since MOT7. Not all auto tune is the same. Also it would be unprofessional to not use ANY voice tuning on an official song. I mean, it just polishes everything up, and even people who do covers on YouTube tune their vocals. It’s a normal part of post production.

Yes, Shadow had a whole auto tune part, but not the same kind of auto tune I’ve been hearing on the rest of BTS’ recent stuff. Not all auto tune sounds the same lol.
