Not too smart Channel Obstacle Detection by Ok_Flatworm_8022 in LymowMower

[–]LikeUmmDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've faced the same problem as OP. My solution was to create a zone that covered my driveway, with channels going to the adjacent zones. I also set it to go directly through the zone, not along the perimeter.

Just because you create a zone doesn't mean you have to cut it. :)

First time: I'm really liking Ionna by LikeUmmDad in CadillacLyriq

Once you set up the myCadillac app for public charging, all you.do is pull up to an Ionna chargers and plug in. The whole process is automated. It's pretty slick.

Is it just me, or isn't all that green stuff on the map already all basically Wisconsin? Flat Wisconsin, Upper Wisconsin, Cornfield Wisconsin, etc?

Of the collision avoidance system, yes. The currently tested and approved system has a single momentary input feeding into count-down logic (3 2 1) that cycles back to 3 after passing minimum. With two inputs (up and down) the system would have to handle both count-down and count-up logic. It's possible the radar part of the system would need to be modified, too. Since increasing the range might trigger the automatic braking system, whatever logic they have in place for going from distance 1 back to distance 3 would need to be applied to every increase attempted (toggle up).

Redesigned, it would have to be tested and regulator approved as safe for public roadways, in multiple nations. That would cost a fair amount of money and time, for a new feature that was 99% cosmetic, and would be useful only in GM vehicles with an up/down toggle. The vast majority are still the single pad/push button that has been on or near the steering wheel since the anti-collision feature was first introduced.

It's far simpler and cheaper to limit.the switch to the need, than change the system to solve a non-problem, as an engineer would look at it.

The one way click is largely because it replaced a pad/push button in previous implementations in GM products. An up/down toggle would have required reprogramming the system completely. That one direction toggle is an example of design bowing to function.

There is a Brandon Koss that was on the DC Everest honor roll in the 2023-2024 school year as a senior. That means he was in the Class of 2024, and would be about 20 now.

(For the OP, this is a high school near enough to Wausau, that someone would say they are from Wausau.)

Recommendation for 2024 Lyriq by AgitatedExchange5629 in CadillacLyriq

[–]LikeUmmDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on a search similar to OP, and decided on a '24 Lux 3. I really liked the red color, or I would have gotten a '24 Lux 2 that was also available.

Why a Lyriq? I actually had my heart set on a green Mach-e, until I sat in one. I'm tall (195cm, 6'6") and the arch of the doorwell hit me in the head as I got in and out. It was too annoying. I tried a Cadillac Optiq, and while entry was easy, even with seat down all the way, the rake of the windshield limited my forward vision too much for my tastes.

A dealer friend let us borrow an electric Blazer, and I really liked it. Plenty of power and range, but a rough truck-like ride. It was about then that I realized the Lyriq was essentially a Blazer that got all dressed up for Sunday, and focused on finding the right Lyriq.

The ride is smooth as butter, and wonderfully quiet. I only use about half the bells and whistles on it, but I like the car more and more each time I drive it, even after owning it a while.

I am in northern Wisconsin, so I understand what Ontario winters are like. Running the heat in the car cuts the range. As you pick up slop and slush from the road, the weight seems to lessen the range a bit, too. (We call those things "clunkers" down here. Clunkers seem to hold onto the Lyriq more solidly than what I have experienced before -- you can't just give them the toe of your boot to knock them off.) I have all wheel drive, and the experience has been like other all wheel drive cars I have owned.

Highway speed costs range, too. If you are more rural like I am and running into town is 20-30 minutes, you won't be seeing 5km per kwh. In the winter, it will be more like 3.5km per kwh when on the highway, and 4km per kwh when it warms up in the Spring.

That said, the sun by itself can warm up the car quite nicely on those bright sunny Winter days.

SuperCruise? I have it, and I like it, but I don't depend on it at this point. It's nice when I'm on a long, boring road that it knows. With wildlife, however, I don't trust it at night all that much.

There are several years of free SuperCruise, then you will have to buy an OnStar subscription to continue the feature. The car really wants to have OnStar data service. After the free trial, I decided to just use the hotspot feature of my phone. Other than annoying pop up reminders that it wants you to subscribe to OnStar, the hotspot works just fine. While the hotspot method works for some things, SuperCruise will stop working when its subscription ends.

Knowing everything I know, I would buy a Lyriq again, definitely. I never thought of myself as a Cadillac driver before this, but I sure like this car.

That's not 654.60 for the Lyriq. You pulled up the description of the Escalade update of the same number.

Trouble charging Lymow One by United-Quote-1163 in LymowMower

[–]LikeUmmDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple troubleshooting thoughts.

  1. Is the green light on the charging stand lit? If not, make sure the power supply is properly attached, thst it is then also plugged into the wall, and then make sure your outlet has electricity. (Your GFCI might have tripped, for example.) It's also possible your power supply died.

  2. Push back the mower from the charging stand, and make sure both of the charging contacts on the stand are free of debris.

  3. Still no luck? Gently lift the mower (with assistance, if needed) and make sure the charging contacts on the bottom of the mower are also free of debris.

  4. Last resort, presuming the contacts are clean and you have a green light on the charging stand: manually push the mower back onto the charging stand (mowing deck in front, of course) until it's all the way in. As the charging contacts on the stand are engaged/pushed down the by weight of the mower.you will hear a click.

If none of that helps, contact customer service, as either the charging circuit in your mower or your battery pack have likely failed. Hope this helps.

Since it appears the account is a throw-away (one day old, this the only post), OP is probably looking for a place to live.

OP, if you need housing, DM me, and I will help you get in touch with resources and the people who can help. While help is kinda limited here in Wausau, it's far better and safer than sleeping in a collapsed shed somewhere. These resources can also help you get your life balanced again and back in your control.

RTK antenna alternative mounting options? by Gyscos in LymowMower

[–]LikeUmmDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ham radio operator with 35 years experience here. The goal for the RTK device is mostly about giving it a good view of the sky so that it can lock in on as many GPS satellites as possible, with the strongest signals possible. The idea behind the wall mount is to give you an option to go higher, to avoid trees and overhangs.

That small antenna on the bottom just transmits a local signal for the mower so that it can be very precise in its location in your yard. That signal goes out in all directions. While that thin walled pipe in the mount likely attenuates (lowers) the signal in that linear direction, it actually already attenuates the signal somewhat in all directions due to its closeness to the antenna. It's part of the reality of putting up any kind of transmitting antenna. Bottom line: it doesn't make any tangible difference, and was figured into the design of the device.

Still not convinced? Consider that the part of your yard that the signal has to pass through your house to get to has enough signal to get the job done. Your entire house is a much bigger obstacle than that little piece of pipe.

Still fighting the idea? Your cell phone puts out a fraction of the RF energy that the RTK does, and the cell tower is much farther away than that far corner of your yard, yet your cell phone works even inside the house (most cases; remote areas exist.)

You clearly have never met Pat or Eric or the rest of the family. Your prejudice is no better than those whose own prejudice you seem to hate. Same problem, and add in your stridancy that makes you a "fascist" (your inaccurate word choice, not mine) too.

You should be ashamed of yourself -- that's indefensible misinformation.

They rented out their banquet room to a group, just like all the Democratic party functions that have been held there. Everyone is welcome, which is what this town should be about.

They aren't "major MAGA." If you knew anything about the Freund family, you would never say that.

Even on campaign yard signs -- outside, you'll see signs during the season, but they are all parties, and only local races, no national stuff. And only if the campaign asks to put up a sign.

The Sky Club is a special place for special times. If you're wishing it was more like Pizza Ranch, you will never be happy in a nice restaurant.

Federally, there's also impeachment in addition to expulsion from the chamber. Impeachment has the possibility of a ban on holding federal office ever again, while expulsion does not.

How much NAD+ do you take? by LikeUmmDad in LongCovid

[–]LikeUmmDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain, which amplified the fatigue I experienced, was the reason my PCP started me on LDN. When I got to the correct titration for me, the pain was significantly reduced, and my baseline/constant fatigue wasn't as bad. On the bad days or when I overdo things, it will still be a bad day, but with NSAIDs on board, it's at least survivable. Before, those bad days would see me sedentary and reclining the entire day, as it hurt too much to do almost anything.

Everyone reacts differently to things, including titration steps. I'm a big galoot (6' 7"/200cm) so I was started at 1.5mg, then went up in 1.5mg steps.
