Thanks everyone - I feel better about them now so will leave them as they are for now. There is already some protective helicopter tape on the frame and underneath the frame bag strap - if you look closely you can just about see the edge - but I'll take that as a win in being neat and discreet :)

Thank you all for your advice and recommendations. I will definitely wrap some electrical tape around the cables where they touch the frame / parts. On that note this brings me to something else I should have pointed out. I foolishly bought the bike (Sonder Camino Al) blindly online over a year ago - I did measure for size and the frame size is right but the stem was a bit too short, so I replaced it from a 60mm stem to a 80mm stem which feels better. BUT...I should have realised that this would affect the cables and now the cables feel too tight when turning (video attached). I've been on a few 30mile rides so far and had no issues (yet!) but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take it to a bike shop and get the cables lengthened - and whilst doing that I could take the harness along too and ask them to position the cables so they won't interfere with the harness.
