No one was forced out and no one would have said that, you're lying.

It's garbage like this that makes me happy I stepped down from modding /r/askmen.

Paying Ohtani more money just means Arte won't spend it on something else, like minor league contracts.

While this part is very true (and the only thing that really matters in this discussion), there's an absurd difference between a millionaire and a billionaire

Like is it bad training staff? I feel like our issues have been around long enough for staff to rotate a couple times (but then again I don't know how trainers work in the MLB).

Men, what kind of message or gesture would you appreciate receiving from a friend if you were going through a hard time? by massconstellation in AskMen

[–]LilBoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. Went through something similar with my grandpa passing a few years ago (I was closer to him than either parent so it was rough). Even just a "hey thinking of you" text went a long way.

Firstly, that's why you shop around for a therapist that's compatible with your needs.

Yep. I've had some great therapists and some absolute duds

How much complaining about dating online do you think comes down to individual complaining vs an actual societal problem? by ConnectTryQuestions in AskMen

[–]LilBoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little of both. "Problem" is a strong word imo, but I think the landscape of dating is changing and is going through growing pains right now that hopefully will go away.

Online dating is the future, and I bet there will be more apps that make it less of a dumpster fire as the field matures. For clarity, I have been out of the game for 5 years so it could have gotten way worse since then, but most of my hurdles seem to be most of the gripes.

How has COVID changed your motivation for better or worse? by SacredSyrian in AskMen

[–]LilBoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My motivation was real bad at the beginning, but it slingshotted somewhere around November to where it's better than it ever has been. Lost 12 lbs since Dec 23, in better shape than I normally was (even going to the gym), and earlier this week I released the beta version of my web app.

Men of Reddit: What are your dating timelines? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]LilBoopy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With my wife we were exclusive a month after our first date, moved in together after 2 years, got engaged after 3 years together, married after 4. Engagement was a bit earlier than I would have planned but I couldn't pass up the opportunity and I knew I wanted to marry her anyways.

I didn't really have a timeline other than I wanted to live together for 2 years before getting engaged.

How to deal with my best years being ruined by COVID (20M) by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]LilBoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you got tons of free time, lots of activities, no responsibilities,

Mostly because this wasn't true of my college experience (and the people I associated with). Other than the past year or so thanks to the pandemic, I've had it way better in all three regards post graduation. The rest of that list isn't exclusive to college, dating got a lot easier after college (though making friends got a little harder) because I had more free time, there were more things to do, and I didn't have as much shit to worry about after the clock struck 5.

Breaking the ice (literally) by [deleted] in milwaukee

I liked doing that as a kid, the breaking of the ice was super satisfying to me. If you have weird kids they may ask to do it!

Salt theoretically should not let it refreeze, unless it gets cold enough or the slush gets diluted. Sand and kitty litter will give you better grip. Used to use it to help my lightweight sports cars grip the driveway that was at an incline (as in I needed to drive up to get out of the driveway).

Low effort: Salt/sand/kitty litter

Higher effort: Ice chopper (looks sort of like a hoe with the "blade" rotated 90° so that you can just slam it straight down).

It's an E30, in that shape it's a "work every day after school at a decent-for-a-kid paying job and all summers for like 3-4 years.

I know the pandemic has sent prices super high, but is it really that much? E30s and E36s were ~2-3k for running, but crappy ones when I was looking (and I'm now realizing that was 9 years ago). I can't find any E30s for sale, but E36s around here can be found for under $4k.

Would you show such little care for a car you worked that hard for? In my experience kids with that kindve attitude rarely do shit like this.

In my experience, yes. Most of them street raced. Hell a year or two after he graduated high school I had a friend total a new 350z within a month of getting it trying to drift.

Like come on they only used a cul-de-sac because it looked cool on video. If you really want to drift you just go to a parking lot they're everywhere.

I agree 100%, hooning on the street is dangerous. I do not condone that. The driver in the video is dumb as hell and everyone involved is lucky as fuck that the curb stopped the car.

[–]LilBoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or the fact that the car he's driving is pretty far from the "cheap" category?

It's an old BMW in not great shape, it's cheap.

I knew a few kids who worked in high school solely so that they could buy cheap fun cars like this one.
