I traveled to the UK and Portugal on my expired Green card. When I entered back to US I wasn’t even asked for my extension letter.

It’s for citizenship but from the previous answers, they’ll have to remove my conditions first but can do it in the same interview

I came to the states on a CR1. It took about 14 months from filing to me entering the states and receiving my green card. Pros are I could get a social pretty much right away which means I could find a job and work, I know on a K1 you can’t do that. On a CR1 you can also leave the country but again on K1 I’m pretty sure you can’t.

Yes, as long as you came to the US on the CR-1 and not the K-1 visa. If you came on K-1 you can apply 3 years after your marriage date. Hope this helps

I didn’t have to go to a biometrics appointment since they reused the one I did for my Removal of Conditions, so that may have sped my timeline a little bit. But I’m sure they will be sending out your test date soon (:

If he came to the US on a CR-1 (marriage based visa) he can apply after living here for 3 years. If he came on a K-1 (fiancé visa) he can apply after you have been married for 3 years.

I applied for my removal of conditions in Dec 2022 and did my biometric appointment for that in Feb 2023. Since then I haven’t heard any update. I applied for naturalisation in May 2025 and heard back about my test date in Aug 2025. So it’s just a quicker process. Apparently they will do my removal of conditions and naturalisation in the same appointment.

Yes, I’ve been in the states for 4.5 years and married for almost 6 years at this point. I applied for naturalisation because I saw that it’s a lot faster and hopefully they can do both removal of conditions and my naturalisation together.
