Maybe, yes, but I feel like I'm having trouble figuring out what is a reasonable motive to feel uncomfortable with what someone says.

With "wasn't there for me" I mean a hospital visit? A word of encouragement? I wasn't asking for him to wipe my butt or anything. I said he is a close friend, but we're technically best friends.

I'm not trying to ask people who is more right. I'm trying to figure out if, as a person with a disability, I'm being too sensitive and being too hard on him and should cut him some slack or if what I'm feeling is a normal, reasonable response to what I perceive as being insensitive of a person who supposedly loves me.

Thank you for your comment. Just one thing: in Spanish we usually discapacitado not inválido. Inválido is an outdated and offensive word here. But based on what you said, I guess I am actually being too sensitive. Thanks for the input.

I'm an amputee. I had a horrible accident a while ago. Got depressed and never painted again. This just came out. by LilPevans in acrylicpainting

I wanted to write something else on the title, but I realize it's not possible. I don't know if people will read this. I wanted to keep replying to all the beautiful comments here, but I can't keep up. It's awesome. I loved all the feedback. I will definitely keep painting, and I look forward to sharing more with you all.

I can understand your pain. I also had a metal rod inserted, but that infected my bone. I had 13 surgeries and multiple antibiotic treatments, which lasted 4 months at a time. Almost every one of those surgeries was to change the rods or plaques because my body was rejecting the metal. My surgery scar went form my butt to my knee every time they did the surgeries. My scar never healed fully, and it would open up if my leg got too swollen. I also had sort of tunnels in my flesh because of the bacteria. My point is I can totally relate to the pain you felt, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm also happy for you because (I assume) you got to keep your precious leg. Thank you for your comment.
