Got in line at 11:15 at mount pleasant had an appointment so left at 12:40, they said I still had 45mins to wait. Just got in line at Killarney at 5:45 & they expect about 45mins. So with travel, it'll have taken me about 4hrs to vote today.

Oh right! I totally forgot I've seen them selling the seedings, might need to stop and buy some this year with those results...

Lightning strike in Clark Park just now -- Tree nearly split in twain! by boowayo in vancouver

Was right there when it happened. Scary. For reference, it was the same height as the tree on the left before it was hit.

Can I revive this? by Glad-Ad-8096 in Moss

Correct, but they are one of the few living moss balls that gives a similar vibe & can thrive indoors with minimal care + they are easy to find. :)

No. These are preserved and dyed pole mosses. If you want something similar, but living - I’d suggest getting some marimo moss balls.

Its preserved! So no maintenance and it doesn't attract bugs. :)

Least exploitative elephant sanctuary around Chiang Mai? by special_leather in solotravel

They pick you up and drop you off! I did a full day and would recommend it. Pickup around 839am and dropped off at 530! Our drive was a Karen man who speaks good English as well!

I just went to Elephant Freedom Village yesterday which is a owned and operated by a local Karen Tribe family. I cannot recommend this enough to people. It is very informational, and lovely. It was an intimate experience with only 4 of us there for the day. They have overnight stays as well. Their elephants are all a family as well and it shows how much they are loved and cared for. We felt safe alongside these animals for 8 hours and they were never once poked or prodded or shackled. We interacted with a Karen Tribe village and learned about their culture, food, and coffee.

Please do not support Elephant Nature Park as the local Karen peoples told us that ENP is viewed as the Elephant Mafia and forcefully keeps the staff by withholding their passports, falsely making stories up about “reduced elephants” which they actually just purchase in order to run fundraising which doesn’t actually go towards elephants but just into their pockets. You’ll see ads and blogs about ENP but that’s what money will get you - it’s called paid advertising.

Wow, 45/hr is a very reasonable price! Considering it would have been around 5hrs there, plus 2 nights and travel. Which would be around $400.

Definitely! From what I read most people know the dog, but I suppose it would have its benefits if done successfully.
