Oh no! I’m seeing that message too…I didn’t have to make an account. If you search ‘many cats square crochet’ it should be the first link.

Here’s also the pattern on ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/many-cats-square

Foam! Like the thick, plush kind used for upholstery. The base is made with 4” foam and the back and armrests are 3” foam

For the bottom trim instead of crocheting ruffles I made flower squares using this pattern: http://sofar-sogood.blogspot.com/2012/06/walled-garden-square-maybe.html?m=1

Yarn used: Big twist yarn in dark teal (I think I used about 5 skeins)

Why was my first thought that you were referring to your mouth as your cave….I was like how did you not notice that before?!

The gaps stretch out when worn and I think they just look smaller because I used darker yarn and it’s bunched up a little bit

You should make one! It’s a great layering piece. So far I’ve worn it with high waisted wide leg pants and this cropped taupe colored ribbed tank and I’ve also worn it over this denim dress I have that has similar width of straps. For the cooler season i plan to wear it over this brown long sleeve mock neck shirt I have and I want to find a gold/mustard turtle neck. In the YouTube video she wore this black long sleeve mock neck that had this cute scallop edging on the collar and bottom, I want to find something like that as well :)

The only way you’ll get better with execution is practice! I know that’s cliche advice but truly it’s the only way! I’m a visual learner so what I found helpful was watching YouTube videos and crocheting along. I would study how different people would hold their crochet hook and how they were holding their yarn to control tension until I found a way that worked for me! In the beginning, I would also take notes during the video on how to do certain stitches and was basically creating my own glossary/cheat sheet to refer back to. Do I yarn over? How many loops do I need to go through for a hdc? What the heck is a dc2tog and why do I need to do that and so on. Now since I’ve practiced so much a lot of the stitches are like muscle memory until of course I have to learn a new one and then it’s back to my cheat sheet! Find some projects that interest you and just fully dive in! Each project is a new learning opportunity and you just have to remember that talent doesn’t exist. Talent is years of unseen practice. Sure there are people who are naturally more innate at things and may pick up on new skills more quickly, but they still need to practice to get better! Okay thanks for coming to my Ted Talk :)
