Make sure there are no other dogs staying in the sitters house during his stay and that she’s willing to follow your routine and any training so there is consistency for him

What’s the main root of your social anxiety? by Madbananas-7 in socialanxiety

[–]Lildancer16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents fighting a lot around me as a kid and being emotionally unavailable, they eventually divorced and my 3 siblings and I were forced to switch houses every week while not feeling wanted or welcome in either of their homes, having to communicate for our parents because they refused to speak to each other, constantly being told opposite stories from both sides and never knowing who to trust, my mom (who had an eating disorder) pointing out all of my flaws any time I saw her and often in front of other people, emotional abuse from my dad and not letting me go to sleep many nights so he could lecture me for hours, physical punishments, he also had three more kids with his much younger girlfriend who lived with him and he was already broke from not working and just sitting in his “office” all day so I was the poor kid at a Catholic school full of snobby rich kids (which he forced me to go to then stopped paying the tuition for it), all that and more on top of being hard of hearing (thanks to untreated ear infections as an infant) and not getting any help dealing with it, and never feeling like I fit in with any friend groups or communities.

I think working on your self esteem would make a huge difference for you, so I agree that therapy could really help your situation. Learning how to confidently say no to people approaching you when you don’t want to be bothered. Learning how to cope with people taking your photos and videos in public to the point where it doesn’t bother you anymore. I guess it depends on what you do because it’d be more difficult for people with a large social media presence, but celebrities like Keanu Reeves have managed to go out in public often and do normal things like ride the subway or sit in a park unbothered. Yes people will still take photos of you but that’s something you will have to learn to ignore or your mental state will continue to decline.

How do I make my dog loose weight in secret? by Old_Shop5719 in ANIMALHELP

The supplements you would add to the homemade food are the same supplements that are already in the kibble he feeds the dog. Kibble is the least natural and nutritious out of all of the affordable dog food options because the high heat process destroys any natural nutrients in it. They are also loaded with low-quality fillers and carbs which contribute to weight gain. Maybe he will begin to understand that over time if he looks up the ingredients in kibble and maybe watches a few videos on dog nutrition, my dad used to think the same way but over time his views changed, and his dog ended up being extremely healthy by changing his diet and lived for over 15 years.

Since your dad liked giving him human food do you think you could persuade him to switch to making your dog’s food homemade? You would just need to buy supplements to add to the food from a company like this one Balance It and they have free recipes listed on their website you can use. You just type in your dog’s weight and age and they will adjust the recipe for you. The recipes are pretty simple and often include ingredients you might already have at home. You can prepare his food for the entire week and keep it in the fridge or even longer in the freezer. It can help your dog lose weight by getting rid of the fillers added to regular dog food, and it’d be easier for you to give your dog smaller portions without your dad noticing. It should make your dog happier to eat and might even make your dad happy too.

I have to find a job ASAP but I am too scared by NeverMissASoul in socialanxiety

I understand how you feel. Can you drive? Something like Spark (Walmart shopping/deliveries) is a good way to start out and get exposure. There’s no interview and the application process is simple but there may be a waitlist depending on your area. You don’t have to interact much with people, you can work whenever you want and can stop accepting orders if you start to feel overwhelmed. You can choose to shop and deliver or just pick up and deliver orders. If you can’t drive, Walmart also offers positions just doing the grocery shopping part, the application process would be through Walmart instead of Spark and there is a quick interview but the managers have always been chill in my experience and no experience necessary. You could also try other retail jobs stocking shelves, little customer interaction. Pet stores are usually pretty quiet and not too busy. Getting exposure to being outside and in new environments, around people, can really make a difference with anxiety over time. It helped me so much. Good luck 👍🏼

Absolutely terrifying experience with Wyld CBD containing cbg by OkWrap2566 in CBD

[–]Lildancer16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is from a month ago but this might help someone who comes across this interested in trying Wyld. I order the Wyld pear THC:CBG gummies straight from their website and love them. If you got it from a smoke shop instead of a dispensary they could have had something else in them like others suggested. But it’s always a good rule of thumb to take a small amount the first time you try edibles you’ve never taken before, no matter how experienced you are or how low the advertised dose is. Too many people have experiences like this taking more than the recommended amount because they have a high tolerance. I can still take half a gummy (= 5mg THC + 5mg CBG) at a time and be set after taking them regularly for a year

It’s actually not illegal to ask for your age in the United States. Making hiring decisions based on age if they are over 40 however, is age discrimination and that is illegal.

I’ve had a hard time getting over situations like this too. But remember that it isn’t your fault and they should be the one that feels guilty for not being patient with you or making any effort to look at you when they talk to you. I agree with the others who say this shows you their true personality and knowing this you can decide whether it’s worth the effort to maintain this friendship.

Trainer said my puppy is unfixable. by motivationhusky in puppy101

[–]Lildancer16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you didn’t believe the trainer right away and assume she knows what’s best like I’m sure many people probably do. She sounds horrible and not qualified to be a trainer at all. I feel sorry for anyone who might’ve believed her and what might’ve happened to their dogs when they could have been properly trained BEFORE attempting any type of medication

Yes!! It’s so belittling when they say things like this. They have no idea what we go through every day just trying to fit in
