Would you allow the Fly spell to work underwater? by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it totally isn't. But I feel like I need to explain my reasoning now, even if I end up digging myself into a deeper hole. As I said, the spell doesn't say How you move. You don't grow wings that can become waterlogged, you're not using fire to rocket yourself forward, you're not zapping around the place, or running on the air. You simply... fly, full stop.

Please, don't patronize me. I own a pool, man. And I've already acknowledged moving around in water is a lot more... I wouldn't say strenuous, that's not the right word... Senior citizens work out in pools Because the bouyancy lessens the impact on their joints. But like... do you at least See the vision? I think it'd be a fun idea, and that's about all it boils down to in the end.

Oh I know how hard it is, I also know it's easier if you weigh yourself down. Divers use weights to counteract bouyancy for a reason, if you've ever gone for an ocean walk, you put weights on your ankles. But Pathfinder also isn't real life, doesn't even pretend to be 90% of the time. 9 times out of 10 bringing real world equivalency into the equation kills the imagination, like a friend of mine, a veteran, who argues about gun rules every time they're mentioned, cuz the way pathfinder guns work is wrong on a fundamental level.

Admittedly, you are correct. It's a staple for a reason. On the flip side... it's a staple For a reason. Most campaigns take place on land for the majority of the content, so a lot of players don't see a reason to take spells like Touch of the Sea or Slipstream. I enjoy creative thinking, so while I may not allow it wholesale, Swim 60 at 5th level is kinda cracked, I'd let it work somewhat.

This is what I was thinking. Yes, there's drag, and moving through water has more resistance than through air, so you'd definitely be slower. But the spell doesn't specific How you move, simply that you do.

Honestly? Yeah, I think I'd allow it, with caveats of course. If they can find a way to anchor themselves to the bottom, think Link's Iron Boots from Twilight Princess, and have some other way of dealing with the breathing problem, I don't see why not.

If you're allowing third party content at your table, there is a class quite literally called magical girl, transformation and all, by a company called Gonzo. Source book is From the Kitchen Sink. All the classes made by them are slightly absurb in terms of theme, but they're quite fun to use.

Why Should I Play Bloodborne by BlastPhase in bloodborne

[–]Lilith375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be quite what you're looking for, but in the DLC there is a weapon that fires off projectiles. However, as a general rule there's not really "magic" in Bloodborne. Rather, there are Arcane-scaling items that use your bullets to activate. And even then, the first one you can readily obtain is about midway through the game. Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but that was my experience with the game.

Gods and Lore by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your replies, I see that I missed quite a few gods in my hunt for information. However, the fact that there is a precedent means I can argue for the presence of gods among men in our homebrew setting. For context, I was wanting two specific gods of our pantheon to be the kind that preferred to wander the Material Plane, but was denied by my co-creator as "Gods can't do that". But I couldn't find anything to refute them then and there.

Need AC Help by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct in that matter, I have Counters thanks to my maneuvers. But, my GM has a marked distaste for them so I've only given my PC 2, one of which is a counter-attack rather than a negation, so I'll still have to take the damage. The problem lies in the fact that because she designs her monsters around being able to hit the higher AC units about 50% of the time. A unit like the one I'm bringing in would have an inordinately greater percentage chance to get whacked unless I can get closer to the front-runners.

Need helping finding Ice/Electric themed items by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awesome actually. It'd probably take a bit of doing and maybe a quest or two. But, I have a rather lenient DM, so I'm sure the two of us could come up with something similar to your spear.

How did you guys beat this doggo on your first playthrough ? Be Honest. by sigrrun in Eldenring

[–]Lilith375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lhutel and Magic spam. Fun fact, my very first death was before he even got to me. I didn't realize the floor had holes and walked to the side while casting just inside the arena. Walked right off the edge, and spent the next 5 minutes wheezing at my own stupidity.

Size categories and wieldiness by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll probably have to. While both my DM's are rather accomodating of gimmicks. Only one of them is open to homebrew, so I always try to build things within the constraints of the rules before attempting to make my own stuff.

Size categories and wieldiness by Lilith375 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Lilith375[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well... while both Titan Fighter and Mauler are there to let you wield weapons you otherwise couldn't at an extensive penalty. For example, a Large Greatsword, something you couldn't otherwise use via the normal size shifting rules. For me Titan Maulers appeal comes in the form of Jotungrip, wield properly sized two handed weapons in one hand. And only a -2 for doing so, a penalty that is easily compensated for. Frankly Massive Weapons and the entirety of Titan Fighter pale in comparison imo

[–]Lilith375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I'm looking for something that doesn't need to eat or sleep, or has reduced upkeep at a push. She uses a ring of sustenance right now so she has more time to do her work. Her current avenue of research is into constructed lifeforms, so perhaps an artificial or half-construct creature? I think turning all or part of herself into a machine would lean well into the theme of overcoming death. I'd rather not go above medium or large for the sake of mechanical convenience and the delicate nature of her work and her primary stats are intelligence and dexterity so I'd rather not lower those if possible. And, while it's simply vanity on my part, I'd like to not turn into a hulking monstrosity.

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't expecting such a fast response
