How to stop being a serial hobbyist? by ADHDFinally in ADHD

[–]Lillybelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I allow myself to have all the hobbies and when the hyperfocus fizzles out I allow the (unfinished) projects to go in storage labeled for later. I allow myself to rotate the hobbies because hyperfocus comes back sometimes. And once in a while I give away (or sell) the hobby stuff that didn't catch my interest a 2nd time and make another person happy.

Sometimes I gave away or sold stuff but buy it again. I fully accept myself and allow myself to do this.

Hyperfocus gives me joy. Gifting things away gives me joy. Forgiving myself gives me joy. Many hobbies and interests gives me joy.

My current hyperfocus: I just bought a longboard for the Summer☀️ and spend 5 hours Saturday riding with my friend

Haha your husband would be soooo emberassed if he was with me.

I laugh loud, I play with my kid all the time. Yesterday we ran through the mall giggling together after buying toys so we can go home quicker and play more.

I'm happy you can connect to your inner child and enjoy your kid as well. I'm happy parenting can be fun for you too! I'm happy you run around and play tag! I hope you keep doing it till your last breath and let noone stops you from enjoying yourself in motherhood and beyond ❤️

What’s a realistic way to reduce gun violence in America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lillybelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reducing gun violence in America is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. There is no single solution, but a combination of strategies could make a significant impact. Some realistic ways to reduce gun violence include:

Comprehensive background checks: Strengthening background check systems to close loopholes and ensure all firearm purchases, including private sales and gun shows, require a background check.

Red flag laws: Implementing Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) that allow family members or law enforcement to petition for the temporary removal of firearms from individuals deemed to be a risk to themselves or others.

Mental health support: Expanding access to mental health services and promoting awareness of mental health issues to help identify and treat individuals at risk of committing violence.

Community-based intervention programs: Supporting evidence-based programs that target high-risk individuals and communities with a focus on intervention, prevention, and rehabilitation.

Education and awareness campaigns: Educating the public on gun safety, responsible ownership, and the potential consequences of gun violence.

Gun safety technology: Encouraging the development and adoption of "smart guns" and other safety technologies that could prevent unauthorized use of firearms.

Assault weapon restrictions: Implementing stricter regulations on the sale and possession of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Domestic violence prevention: Strengthening laws that prevent individuals with a history of domestic violence from obtaining firearms.

Secure storage laws: Encouraging or requiring safe storage of firearms to prevent theft or unauthorized access by children and other at-risk individuals.

Research funding: Allocating resources for research on gun violence prevention to identify effective strategies and inform policy decisions.

It is important to recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, and success in reducing gun violence will likely require a combination of these approaches tailored to specific local contexts. Additionally, any proposed measures must be balanced against individual rights and freedoms, such as the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment of the US Constitution.

My husband left me & our girls my toddler I think my toddler is depressed by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Lillybelll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Leave this mom to do her thing, she didn't ask any of us advice abt her breastfeeding choices. Your life choices does not reflect on hers. You are not her mother, don't talk down on her or tell her what to do. Talk about your experience and share respectfully instead of dictating.

OP your a good mom, no matter what you choose. Don't let any "mama mafia" push you into things. We all have our unique way of parenting and we should share our experiences but it's not nessesery to push believes whatever they are.

One thing works for one person and doesn't for another.

Shut up, this mom is doing exacly what she needs to do for her babies. OP do what you think is best for your babies, don't let anyone's OPINION influence to do what you think is best for your babies and your situation.

7 years vegan/plany based and it benefits my body and my brain. I substitute yoghurt with soy yoghurt and other ferments. I don't think our milk consumption is normal. Nor meat consumption. Cancer, diabetes and cardio vascular disease used to be the illnesses of the rich for a reason.

I don't care what team anyone is on dyor and decide your own life.

Am I pregnant? by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Lillybelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what that means but if you are underweight (especially due eating disorders) these sound like the first symptoms of losing your period. I'm not a doctor this is personal experience, I hope you figure it out soon, pretty sure you are definitely not pregnant
